It was dark out that night. A storm cloud had masked the shine of the stars. I sat at the table downstairs with a glass of wine pressed to my lips when I heard a knock at my door. I stood, taking my sword from the table throwing the scabbard off into the corner pressing myself to the door. I heard the knock again and tore the door open bring my sword in front of me. A dark figure stood in the rain covered by a cloak to keep off the rain. Prepared to defend myself I suddenly realized who stood at my door at such a late hour. I ushered him through the door and closed it behind him.
"The Mayor is blaming me for the disappearance of Vargus, and has banned me from Moonglow. I trust you and you are an excellent leader and I need your help to usher in a new age. A new army motivated by it's own beliefs and unregimented. Nor will I follow these rules that stifle people so, I want to make our own way in this world..." Harboring some of the same beliefs he bid him to sit and they sat and talked for what seemed like hours until daylight had broke through the storm clouds. Joseph took his leave to prepare for what was to come. I stood looking out my window. "The Imperial Praetorian Guard. This shall be a moment that will go down in the history books. And I want to be part of it." I said to myself. Perhaps I was just trying reassure myself for this would be a hard road ahead. I returned to my seat behind my desk and took up a the ink well, quill, and parchment and began writing. "A New Beginning. The Imperial Praetorian Guard."
