The Drow was ending his second week of observation in Moonglow. Within him he could feel the fires of chaos itching for a taste of the screams and of the suffering he could employ. Drayden had been paying close attention to the small cluster of buildings on a southern point of Moonglow's island. It appeared that the Militia had established their headquarters there, very close to a small fenced in area that was used regularly for combat training. He had watched some of their drills not but a few days ago. in fact, he was standing not far from the place where he had hidden that night. The scene today was rather different, there were only a few of the Militia's newest recruits around. One he believed to be named "Vargus" as he had over heard a few times. A General or something...
He silently and stealthily made his way south, to sweep the area for any others that might be able to catch him, or any other conversations he could eavesdrop on. Drayden found nothing and he quietly began his return to the training area. His mind swept back to the times he had spent in the Underdark, he remembered the old Drow male teaching him how to cast and keep himself as hidden as possible. While it was impossible to stay completely hidden and cast a spell, he knew how to make it harder for people to see him. His hands quickly grabbed at the necessary reagents as he crouched in the shadows of a tree. It was hard to keep oneself unseen on a flawless day. The cursed sun.
It was time to let these pompous fools know that they were not alone on their dear isle. It was time for them to feel the chaos that they seemed more than willing to inflict on everyone else. Now, Drayden would bring the fires of war to them. On their home soil.
In his mind he was forming the spell, as to make it faster and more precise. He could feel the warmth through his body, that wonderful warmth he felt every time he cast his magic. His voice spoke the words, "In Flam Grav". Immediately the fence of the training area erupted in flames. A wicked grin formed on his face as the few recruits nearby scrambled in confusion. It seemed they hadn't noticed him just yet. He shifted away, unseen to their eyes and positioned himself at an angle farther south, and cast the spell a few times more, covering the area near the fence in flames. The fires roared, searing the once green grass instantly. Drayden faded from view again and retreated back into the forests. Apparently he hadn't been pinpointed, as the Militia rode close to where he was just standing not too long ago, but he knew better than to just wait. It was times like these that he remembered who he was, he remembered why he had been watching these humans.
With a practiced ease that only the Drow could have, he quickly and invisibly moved to the southern point. Where the Moonglowians had build a few guard towers that overlooked the ocean as well as a large building that seemed to be a popular ale house. It was empty now. But that would serve a purpose today. He quickly flashed off a few more of the fields of fire around the buildings, three, four five times. The flames roared scorching the buildings and leaving marks on the ground. Perhaps that would cause more grief than directly destroying anything. These humans took great pride in their city and its beauty.
Drayden continued on, creeping about and dropping the fire fields near various Militia buildings. He lit various campfires along the roads, letting them run wild. The whole thing brought him pleasure that he hadn't realized. The simply pleasure in setting this place aflame. He wished he could purify this entire island of lies and false righteousness with flames. Let the whole wretched island burn to the ground. But alas, that was not his purpose here this evening.
After letting them settle for a few hours he returned to the south point, making sure he remained out of sight. He found it easier at this hour in the waning sunlight. He could hear voices inside of the tavern, he waited a few moments and as someone walked in he snuck in behind them. Hoping to catch wind of some conversation. By the looks of things it seemed that a Sanctan, a few Umbrans and his associate were here tonight having a drink. Drayden hid himself well near the door and listened to the idle banter and chit chat. His ally was doing what needed to be done and talking about a "Drow running around setting fires". Not too long after that was spoken, a few well equipped Moonglow Militia had entered. He took his opportunity and slipped out as they walked in. The chatter continued on about the possiblity of a Drow sneaking around. It was good, thats what was supposed to happen.
They must be pretty confident in themselves as they haven't even searched for me. What sort of militia was this? Hell, even one of their ranks was slamming down drinks while in uniform. A joke is what it is....
Drayden hid himself carefully behind a building near the Tavern and once again could feel the tingle of the magic at his fingertips as his mind went over his spell and prepared it for a quick casting. "In Flam Grav" was spoken several times over as he caused the area behind the tavern to erupt in flames. He moved quietly to the other side of this smaller building and caused more fire to rise up from the ground, letting it singe the stairs of some unfortunate soul's home.
I guess that got their attention. I wonder how long before they can catch me.
Only one of the uniformed Militia had ridden out, it seemed as if he had too much to drink beforehand. A pity. I was hoping this would actually be a challenge. Now I have to out maneuver a drunk Militia man.
The Drow moved unseen farther north towards their Headquarters, quickly showing himself to alight more flames along the road, along the fenced area and in front of their building. Just to add insult to the act. It seemed whatever he had done had gotten some attention as there were a few others in uniform that arrived. He recognized some of the faces, as he had watched them much in the past two weeks. He let it go then, it was time. He could play cat and mouse all night with these humans. But perhaps the cause would be better served if he let this drunken Private catch him. That was the only way he would be caught it seemed.
After a short session of questioning they took him to what he read as the armory. There were several cells with a single bed and a pen and paper. They spoke mometarily and then Vargus asked the other to leave him...he continued to question the Drow as to why he was there and what he hoped to accomplish by setting fires in their city.
"I'm here because Lord Ronin of the Cappadocians wishes me here. I am here to reveal the stink of Humanis."

(I'll write more when i can. I think that covers most of though Smile)

Vargus stepped into the tavern, then arched a brow as he noticed three militiamen standing in front of a drow. One of the militia, General Joseph, looked over to him and said, "Ahh, Minister. This man here..." He paused for a moment as he motioned to the drow. "Was found setting fires around Moonglow." Vargus frowned, then looked over to the drow, who was oddly calm. Vargus said, "Come, let's move somewhere else, the tavern is no place for such ordeals." The three militia nodded, and the drow stood still, not saying a word.

One of the militiaman who was nearby, Captain Scipio, grabbed hold of the drow's arm. Then Vargus, the three other militiamen, and the captive headed out of the tavern, with Scipio keeping a firm grip on the drow as they left the building. Vargus uttered a few words, before a magical gate was summoned. Then Scipio pulled the drow, who seemed to be putting up no resistance whatsoever, into the gate. Vargus, Armon and Joseph followed.

When Vargus and the drow were alone in the armory, Vargus showed a slight frown, then asked, "So, why did you do it?" When the drow gave his answer, Vargus gave a short laugh, then said, "This is the isle of Truth, you're expected to speak it. You'll be staying in here until you decide to speak the truth." Vargus motioned the drow to the cell, and it smirked slightly, then moved into the cell on its own. Vargus arched a brow, then shut the cell door and locked it. Vargus twirled the key around in his fingers for a moment, looking to the drow, thinking Now what is this one planning.... He then tucked the key into the pocket of his breachers, and left the armory.

In a dark alleyway of Moonglow, three men waited in anticipation as a fourth prepared to give them orders. Of the red clad group, only one man had his face exposed.

One of the three men stepped forward and spoke softly, "Lord Windom, what will you have us do? One of the beasts has launched an attack on Moonglow with arson! We must not let this stand! We must act! Moonglow has done nothing..."

Artius interrupted the hooded figure with a wave of his hand. He looked sternly at the other three and spoke softly, "we know not what this Drow's intentions were and we do not act without proper knowledge. I have only heard fragments of the story, but I would like to hear it, in its entirety, from the Drow's mouth. This is precisely why I have summoned the three of you here today. I am going to give you all of the information I have on this beast. I think you three are capable enough to find him. Bring me that Drow immediately, whether he wants to or not! Remember, this is for the good of humanity! Hold Humanis High!"

Without another word, Artius passed each of them a piece of parchment, turned and left.
