A pidgeon with a letter strapped tightly to its leg seeks out Vargus, where ever he may be.

Dear, Minister of Defense Vargus Daelstrum:

I hope the preparations for Moonglows outpost are going well. I would have preferred to help ship the resources from Minoc to Verity Island, but sadly I could not. I'm tied up until tomorrow eve for personal reasons. Mayor Cal is aware.

Anyways, I write to inform you of an addition I'd like to make to the Council Guard. As you know, it's going to be kept small. I only require two to three more soldiers. After this one, I will only require one or two. The waiting process is taking some time, because the Mayor and I would like to make sure the soldiers are fully fit and trained.

With that said, I'd like to add Rinartican to the Council Guard. He's proven to be the type of fighter we need. I'd like one more mage in the Guard, and he'd be perfect. I plan to extend the invitation to him tomorrow evening. I'd like to make sure this is alright with you. Even though in agreed with the Mayor and I, upon creation of the Council Guard, that we could take militia soldiers.

Write me back as soon as possible.

Dear Sarian,

The preparations are going fine, and everything is going as planned. I have nothing against you taking Sergeant Rinartican from the militia. But, concerning the agreement you and the Mayor made allowing you to take militia soldiers out of the militia, I feel like I have been left out of whatever meeting it was that allowed you to take men and women from my division. I'd like to speak more with you about this once I return to Moonglow.

Please extend my congratulations to Rinartican. He is a strong man, and I will be looking forward to seeing him become even more powerful during the time he spends under your command.

Glad to hear everything is going well. If, after tomorrow, you need an extra scout in the area, let me know. I'd be more than happy to help.

I thought it was discussed with you, whether or not it'd be ok to draft soldiers from the militia to the Council Guard. If it wasn't, my apologies. None the less, only one more is needed. It'd be, without a doubt, run by you. I'd rather know if they could do more for the Militia than they could the Council Guard. Always your final call, Minister.
