A messenger arrives baring Moonglow colors and a white piece of cloth. While approaching Honor's Landing, the messenger waves the cloth, and delivers the scrolled message.
Lord Malo,
I write to you concerning this war that we find ourselves in. It seems as though it is not going so well for you. Therefor, I am giving you the opportunity to surrender. Even though it has seemed that you have already done so via your actions, I am giving you the opportunity to put it on paper, or verbalize it, if you should so choose.
Perhaps you don't know what I mean when I say it seems as though you have already chosen to surrender by your actions. Allow me to elaborate.
I believe in one of our earlier correspondences you claimed that you would march your men in to battle, simply to show that there "really is an evil" in this land. Since making this outrageous proclamation, we have only seen the backside of your legionaries as they turn tail and fly like the wind away from anyone resembling a Moonglowian. I'm not too familiar with how wars are fought by the standards of the Legion of Honor, but I have yet to find this tactic in any of the battle tactic books I have read. Perhaps you could enlighten me on this, so that I may understand.
During our second patrol of your lands, we had anticipated some sort of resistance. Instead, when we arrived, we found your area covered in dragons! We had thought that your men had run inside and cowered between the sheets with one another at the sight of note one, not two, but THREE regular dragons, and a drake, nonetheless. Being the nice guys that we are, we had slain every single dragon that was endangering Honor's Landing on your behalf. It is rather upsetting, however, that we have still not received any sort of "Thanks" for our deeds. I am still waiting on that.
Should you wish to surrender (which would be the smart thing to do, so I do not expect you to do it), you shall make a public declaration, outlining your mistakes in attacking us first, despite your so-called "righteous" beliefs. I also expect the amount of 250,000 gold to be paid for your trespasses and criminal acts while in Moonglow territory. Should you comply with all of the aforementioned stipulations, then you will find yourselves without Moonglow breathing down your neck.
I look forward to your reply.
Always truth,
Cal Hurst
Mayor of Moonglow
P.S. While we are at war, do try to hold some sort of formality in your letters. It is unprofessional to simply scribble a response on a parchment without addressing it or signing it. I am a gentleman, and I had hoped that you would be one as well. So again, do not be barbaric. Address and sign the letters properly.

A messenger wearing crimson and gold arrives in Moonglow with a letter for Cal Hurst and posts it at Moonglow bank
As always your messages are so very entertaining.
As to the war we find ourselves in I will state once again.. We ignored Moonglow for a long time until you declared war on us. I think it is amazing that one small confrontation at the bank put you over the edge.. but then that is what you do isn’t it?
Your plan to “crush” us was interesting. You say this War does not go well for us. Perhaps the murder of a woman and later a lone tamer that chose to not fight means some victory for you.
You come to our lands and expect we will be at your beck and call and when we aren’t there you say we are hiding. In fact we simply are seldom there and would not take orders from you to be there in any event.
Perhaps you are right, surrender would be best and we would be willing to accept yours. _________________

Lord Malo,
Perhaps the rumors hold some truth to them, you are senile.
Moonglow has no reason to surrender to a weaker . You say that your attack on Moonglow soil was a silly little thing. Perhaps to you, attacking others on their lands is a small thing. But those of us who have brains know that any attack made on our lands is a serious issue, and it will be dealt with.
We do not go to your lands expecting you to be at our beck and call. We go to your lands with the assumption that you are man enough to defend them. But again, I suppose that is asking too much of a man who can't even stick to his convictions, and changes them as he sees fit.
You contradict yourself in your own letter, old man. Allow me to show you exactly how you do so.
1. "We ignored Moonglow for a long time until you declared war on us."
2. "It is amazing that one small confrontation put you over the edge."
So you ignored us, until we declared war on you, which was after you attacked us. So tell me, do you normally attack people that you ignore, or was that a momentary brain lapse? As I said, you change your story and your goals to fit your lies. You are no man of Honor. You are no warrior. You are but a farmer with a band of idiots to follow you. Or rather, that's what I hear from some of your comrades in the Protectorate. Their words, I promise, not mine.
You say we have "murdered" a woman and a tamer. I suppose when we best someone in combat it is considered murder, but when you best someone in combat it... wait a minute, pardon me, that hasn't happened yet. We'll name it when it happens.
So you choose not to surrender. Very well then. We'll continue to allow our recruits to toy with your veteran members for practice, until they move up to the training dummies in the armory hall.
Always truth,
Cal Hurst
Mayor of Moonglow

Cal Hurst,
You stated in your last message to me that you declared war on us after we attacked one of yours. How absurd.
No attack would take place unless we were at war.
I wonder why all your messages are personal attacks that serve no purpose.
And Yes, I consider it murder to attack a non-combatant that is naked.
But once again, your message was very amusing and the parchment makes wonderful tender. _________________

Lord Malo,
I insist that you seek help for whatever condition it is that is causing you to lose your memory. No war was declared until you attacked us. This much can even be attested to by those in the Protectorate, particularly Walter, as he was there when it all happened.
I feel it is only right to inform you, however, that Moonglow will be setting an outpost up just outside the borders of your lands. Or are they inside? My, seems like I'm experiencing a brain lapse now. Perhaps you are contagious. Nevertheless, this outpost will be a staging point. A staging point for something much, much larger. You are more than welcome to attempt to stop us, however I don't foresee you coming out of your hiding spots.
Perhaps you should appoint a diplomat, or someone who can keep up with current events and events that have transpired to communicate on your behalf. It may work to your advantage. This... constant reminding you of how this all started is getting a little repetitious, and being a man of educated background, I like to communicate with those who are also of high intelligence.
Always Truth,
Cal Hurst
