|
I just wanted to post a bit of information for everyone about what we've come up with so far about the current incarnation of Humanis. This should hopefully push the concept past 'just being an IC post'.
This new face of Humanis is a movement, not a guild. There is no requirement or restrictions placed on what guilds you must or must not be in, or if you even need to be in any guild whatsoever.
Each member might contribute in a different way, have different goals, different methods, different outlooks on non-human races, different beliefs. Members are not going to be cookie-cutter elf-haters. This will open the possibility for debate among members and all sorts of other intrigue.
Secrecy is key. While some members' guilds might have no problem with them being involved, most guilds would outright oppose any of their own being involved, or might want to avoid the political damage caused by housing a member of Humanis, especially given the further acts of violence and terror they are sure to be involved in.
The movement breaks the mindset of 'making alts for guilds'. You don't need a brand new alt or barely established character to get involved with Humanis; an existing, established character could just as easily be interested in Humanis, and would in fact make far deeper and more interesting roleplay. Though, new characters are still fine, of course.
The style of roleplay and concept of Humanis demands a mature mentality. That being said, we are going to keep a strict eye on our members and plots and goings on to keep it on a professional and mature level for roleplay purposes.
Don't be afraid to contact us. We are going to be slinging roleplay all over the place as we go, but if you have any special interest to get involved with us or idea/concept/plot you want to kick start, by all means, drop us a line. If you have any concerns about a member or the concept/roleplay itself, again, please let us know.
Lastly, the success of any secrecy based roleplay guild or organization is dependant ENTIRELY upon everyone else not metagaming. I don't want to make accusations, but you can't blame me for taking the precaution to ensure that the roleplay stays fun and drama-free. Just keep in mind that IC posts are not 'evidence', nor do you suddenly know or suspect the people named in posts. We will also very likely be using hooded shrouds and masks. Some of us might take the precaution of remaining silent so our voices are not known. Please, if you want to play detective, make absolutely sure that your in character and out of character knowledge do not get mixed up. It has happened in the past and I want to ensure it doesn't happen again, for the fun of all involved. Things like the half-elf kid being dumped in Luna could very easily be known, but making up "oh, we saw him being dumped there, so we know you" and crap like that is metagaming and thus extremely unwelcome. If you are unsure about what is IC and what is OOC knowledge, again, don't be afraid to contact us and get a clarification.

I must admit, the "pages" i dropped at the Protecterate meeting Sunday were inspired by your post, however i was careful not to include any of the info from it in the "pages". They were meant to be intentional lies to sow the seeds of distrust. I only used information about humanis my chars already knew.
I look forward to encountering your movement IG. If you ever need a random drow to torture and or kill, i'd be happy to assist, I only ask that if the end result is death, that you pretend that is was just a random drow (not 1 of my actual chars), unless, of course, you capture one of my actual chars.
Myself and another, if and when we find about your movement IC, have also talked of infiltrating your movement polymorphed as humans. We have no problems even killing and or torturing other elves to ensure our true identies are not discovered. Your thoughts on this? |

I am glad to see this it will develop some good rp. Merci in all respects looks human till...she gets angry then perhaps there is a slight alteration, namely claws..that might give her away.
Elves are far from the only problem these days... I look forward to this all. _________________ May destiny guide you... |

In just about every pen and paper game, utility/roleplay spells like polymorph generally have drawbacks. The old polymorph spell in UO had a duration, though they just made it a 'toggle' some year or two ago.
I suppose I am suggesting a roleplay drawback, because UO polymorph is basically infallible. What that is, you guys can come up with, or we could figure out with the rest of the Humanis crew, but at first glance the idea seems cool. |

Sounds like a slight UO RP balance issue. |

Definitely. Nothing we can't correct ourselves though. |
