Majesty,

Word of your nomination did reach me at my home in Britain. I regret to inform you, that as Administrator of the upcoming Protectorate elections it is my duty to inform you that as per the the Constitution of the Britannian Protectorate only loyalists may be accepted as candidates for the post of Regent.

This is most obviously because we are a Government that operates in place of our King, Lord British, ergo we can only recognize one King as our sovereign and in absence defer to his elected Governor-Regent as our governmental administrator.

It is illegal and unconstitutional to accept foreign sovereigns, or members exclusively of non-loyalist states as candidate for the seat of Governor-Regent, while all other positions are open to allies.

I would be happy to discuss solutions to this issue with you any time, at my adopted home of Castle Blackthorn, Trammel. Take heart old friend, there is a solution to every problem under the dual moons.
