Since so many guilds are involved I thought I would post here.

Everyone should make sure they are warred to Moonglow Town Council (MTC), Umbra (:U: ) and the Vampire Clan (CAP) if they will be participating in the event, as it has been expressed that there will be an attack on the Britannian Embertide.

Also, as a point to note, wherever the attack takes place during the event itself the event will halt, this being of course to maintain the realism that a massive fight took place, as a majority will be unarmed we can rply assume major injuries will be sustained ergo a parade and meeting obviously could not proceed.

But not to worry, any items not used (food, robes ect...) will be stored in my house and we can re-attempt the ceremony at a later date (probably the first Sunday of June, as next Sunday night I have a family affair)

oh Don't worry, we won't ruin your RP unlike how of MTC and CAPs RP got flushed down the toilet, something like a month worth of preperation and RP, For the record, adrien was informed of this on wednesday but decided not to inform anyone AT all....so yeah....don't think that this is something that no one was informed of. In the system that was created for land claims and laws all that is required is a notice 72 hours before a large scale battle.

Quote:
Battles should be planned in advance, agreed upon by the GM's and 72 hours of advanced notice given.

Fong and I spoke, and the issue seems to be resolved. As always there are misunderstandings and errors in communication.

Anyone wishing to discuss it more in depth can contact Fong or myself.

All guilds should make sure that they are warred to Umbra as well.

Agreed, luckily if there is a script, I don't have it.

Step 1: Begin festival
Step 2: Moonglow, Umbra, and CAP show up in numbers
Step 3: Moonglow, Umbra, and CAP Attack
Step 4: Battle ensues, Protectorate loses (even this part has been planned, jebus)
Step 5: RP injured
Step 6: Announce continuation of said event two weeks from date.

Perhaps not right down to the T, but that is more scripted than I've seen a lot of things.

I disagree entirely! I like reading books... [/sarcasm]

I just don't like watching some members of a dynamic massively multiplayer online role-playing game community - possibly the oldest one to date anywhere on the internet - pull that kind of rubbish so that they can manipulate the flow of events to whatever they wish. I hear people from all corners of roleplay on the 'net say that roleplay communities are losing intrigue and quality left and right, and I am disappointed to see this one follow suit. One would think that it would be a pillar of strength among all the rest.

I hope you guys do end up getting some recruits from WBB; I'd love to see the quality of roleplay rise when you bring in people that have no idea what it is... At least until they are corrupted to believe that the OOC drama and people screaming for the spotlight and demanding everyone worship their epic oldie-ness is the way roleplay is meant to be.

Now let me know if I need to save this thread locally now or later for when the newest rug is put over this thread.

Slightly random thoughts made to look like paragraphs:

Why even have this thing if there is so much animosity over it? people need to stop getting so worked up OOC. Many are getting too overly emotional over this RP stuff. Its like 2005 all over again. Instead of going for epic I think we all need to go back to the basics because the simpler things are the less things can go wrong.

Too many are only logging on for scheduled events and forgo daily RP. Now that this scheduled event is on shaky ground everyone is flipping out because they made plans to be there and do it a certain way. Horrible. People on both sides plan and in the end ruin each other's event.

Unless you're RPing with your own guild you need to be at an event to RP these days. The entire mindset of this community has become lazy and I for one will admit that I fit into this laziness, the inspiration is being slowly squeezed out of the community by our collective attitude.

This has happened so often on Atlantic its sad: People metagame or godmode or use RL threats or script roleplay or whatever; the target of any of the above speaks out about it, and the original metagamer/godmoder/crazy/crappyroleplayer does all they can to play the victim card. This works just about every time because people unconditionally back eachother up 'strength in numbers' style, whether they know it or not. So, as an outsider, I see it happening again from Darrien. I pity anyone that has the misfortune of having to deal with the OOC political crap from him in the aftermath of this issue, and am glad that I don't have to deal with it because I am unimportant in the world of regency tea parties.

Also, the reason I am speaking against your thought of shying away from things that upset people is because many have used that as a crutch to avoid whatever they do not want. See above tea party comment.

I have a hard time forming a reply to these thoughts. I think the best way to put it is that I have observed the decay of roleplay from every angle I could and worked to slow or stop it with some ideas and roleplay guides and whatnot, but more and more people keep getting 'in charge of things', wanting to lead things, run towns, run guilds, et cetera, not understanding that when you go for the 'glory' and 'prestige' of the above listed things without earning them, it has adverse short term effects (that they don't care about) and long term effects (that they don't have the foresight to work with, because they are too blinded by the shiny new title/city/landclaim/etc that they are after to care). These things were allowed to happen and the state of things today is the result.

Another way to put it is that many people from the middle or recent era of Atlantic look back at the great people/concepts/guilds/organizations of days past and do all they can to get their greedy little fingers on whatever it is they want with no understanding of what MADE those people/concepts/guilds/organizations great from the foundation up. Why pour the foundation and build the building when you can step on other peoples toes to sit in the throne -now-, because surely that was what made those great things from the past great? Wrong-o.

Some good examples that come to mind for no specific reason: OES (or more specifically, its lore) and the Regency. 'Nuff said.

To review, I gave some examples of long term damage that was not observed or prepared for in the short term. I saw it coming as soon as I heard about it, but the majority let it happen. Too bad.

Anyways, I think I've made my point as much as I care to make it. Anyone that has been taking my 2 cents for as long as I've been offering it could probably afford a delicious piece of cake right now. Or a new car.

On a brighter note, I saved a load of gold on my horse insurance by switching to GEICO. Cool
