Alessandra looked around the kitchen at the flour on the floor and the pie thrown against the wall, turning the stones into a lovely shade of purple, and she ran a hand through her hair and sat sighing heavily on the stool in her kitchen. She cursed under her breath and tears welled up as she smelled the burnt remains of what was going to be a nice dinner to surprise Mave when he got home this evening from patrols. Suddenly an idea came to her mind and she ran upstairs and began penning a letter to her friend...
Dear Brittany,
I hope that this letter finds you and Asher both well and in good spirits. We spoke at one time before your wedding of you possibly giving me lessons in the finer kitchen arts, and I have decided that if you are still willing to take me as your student, I would like very much to try to learn how to cook. I promise I will not set the kitchen on fire or blow anything up... at least I will try very hard to not let that happen again!
In Friendship,
Alessandra Lious
Alessandra sent the message and hoped that Brittany was brave enough to try to teach her. _________________ Ken: I don't put anything in my mouth I don't intend on swallowing...

Brittany sat on the edge of the bed, legs and arms crossed - chewing a fingernail. She was frustrated...aggravated...
This irritation had resulted in a terrible week. For days, nothing she cooked had turned out right. Her concentration and patience had vanished - both of which are vital attributes for a good cook!
She walked over to the desk and began to write a letter.
Aless,
I am sorry it has taken me so long to write you. I am flattered you thought of me for your request! I'm not having a very good week but I think things are going to impove in the next day or so. Maybe we can get together this weekend? I would love to show you around the kitchen! And don't worry - I've had a lot of practice handling kitchen fires and explosions! We'll be fine!
Brit
Brit watched the pigeon scurry away and sat down again. Asher had said one week...the week was nearly over... _________________
