The cool ever-night air of the city of Umbra and its quiet surrounding villages was always an enchantment for Bae'vin. Upon the strange ghostly mount of hers she rode, occasionally stopping to observe her environs with a keen eye. It seemed that most of the inhabitants were sleeping or out pursuing whatever was their will. Oh, such quietude. It had been days since she had seen any of her newfound dark companions, and it occurred to her that she was rather fond of their company--even if much of the time was spent debating and sharing taunts that had just the slightest edge of something more than what was on the surface.

Dismissing the beast she rode back into the ethers, Bae'vin frowned to herself and wandered in the direction of the Den. This too she found deserted, and this would ordinarily suit her just fine; but on this night it found her restless and nearly agitated. She continued walking around the nearby vicinity a while, and then recalled her ki-rin from wherever it was such creatures rest when not being ridden. Mounting up, she rode as far as the town of Sanctus, again finding nobody near. Continuing on, she made it to the bridge in Luna before remembering how terribly the brightness of the structures there tormented her eyes and heeled her mount around.

Back she rode, taking in all she saw on the ground and in the darkness above. She avoided thinking about what she felt...mainly because it would force her to admit that she wished for company. Once again she dismissed the beast to its own world, and into a shared house she let herself--again finding a deserted building.

It was there she relaxed a while, floating in that wonderful twilight place of rest, and the hours drifted by without interruption.
