After a session of the Britannian Protectorate that will no doubt go down in history, Chancellor Fong of Verity Island came for a private audience with His Majesty, Lord Adrien Garnier.
Moonglow being assumed a nation of civilized and law-abiding citizens Lord Garnier met with the Chancellor unguarded and unprotected assuming that there existed no malcontent of intention between either of parties.
The tide of the discussion quickly changed when Chancellor Fong appeared with three of his new and elite division of warriors led by one Vaen Swiftar.
The Regent's life was threatened, the Regent was cursed, the Regent was spat on, and the Regent was ordered to recall his vote, to silence Sanctus, to demand the Protectorate show all proper respect to Verity Island or face total destruction at the hands of Moonglow...since as Chancellor Fong exclaimed, he and he alone was the true ruler of Verity Island.
As the three-shadow walking witnesses (two of which are non-loyalists or allies, but attest the the truth of this statement) who were watching the scene, Lord Isk of Magincia included, will report...
The Regent refused to be bullied, or coerced by such savagery contested and spoke bravely against each and every demand or insult Chancellor Fong and Vaen Swiftar launched against the Regent, until finally, knowing well the meaning of fate and destiny the Governor-Regent extended his arms outward, and challenged the four armed man to either kill him as they threatened or be on their way, as he would never not even in his dying breath betray The Allies and Loyalists of the Britannian Protectorate.
After proceeding to curse and spit on his Majesty, the party left, returning to Verity Island.
Despite the council of his closest advisers, His Majesty remains in the Palace of Nujel'm, sending away all guards, and refusing to not remain totally available to the people of the realm, as he has been in the time since his election as Governor-Regent.
When asked to comment, His Majesty had these words:
"My friends, it is true, the act against me was brute, uncivilized and violent, but I remind you all who we are, and what we are, I implore you to avoid similar tactics, or deeds of retaliation for this. It is we, my friends who stand in truth, and that truth shall sustain our mighty alliance. I offer my prayers for the people of Verity Island, I offer my prayers for Mayor Yolen Grath, who has several of you suspected has lost control of his democratic powers. I also offer my prayers for a people truly dear to my heart, my neighbors to the west, the people of Moonglow, and I pray that they need not suffer the tactics that were attempted on myself. May the Virtues sustain you all." |
