Destiny leaned against the windowsill, looking out across the snowy region where she lived. She sighed slightly, biting her bottom lip as she jumped to her feet and ran down the hallway, holding up the end of her dress to keep herself from tripping as she headed then, down the stairs. It was quiet; her nana was down in the kitchen, cooking something for lunch.

At the door, she slipped on her shoes before tiptoeing out of the house, to stand almost shin deep, in the white fluffy snow. “DADDY!” she yelled, looking around carefully. Like a few people that had introduced themselves into her life, her father had disappeared.

Dragan, Mr. Creazil, and now her father. She sighed, yelling for him one more time, before dashing back to the house, leaving her boot prints in the snow behind her.

She didn’t understand. Why did everyone have to go away? It was something a girl her age couldn’t understand. She slipped through the door again, quietly, and tiptoed down the hallway.

“Destiny?” her nana asked.

“Yes?” she stopped in front of the kitchen door, peering inside at her nana, cooking over the fire.

“Don’t go out and play… If you get sick, your mother will have a fit.”

“Yes Nana.” Destiny replied, her eyes rolling slightly, before she dashed back up the stairs, leaving a trail of slush and snow behind her. An idea had struck her, as she finished ascending the stairs, and began to walk down the hallway towards her room. She slipped into a chair, and scribbled her mother a letter, tucking it up in her bed with her teddy bear.

“Be good, Mister Bear, while Destiny is away.” Destiny said, kissing her stuffy bear on the head, before sneaking back down the hallway, then down the stairs and out the door.
