Praetor,

I am writing to you because I did not have the chance to thank you last night. You and Aless did fantastic considering the company we were hosting. My only apology to you is that you had to deal with the immaturity of some of the children you were taking on a tour. Hopefully Adrien leaves the kids at home next time. If we invite them, at least.

But also, have you decided if you would like a second in command? The position of Praetor comes with its fair share of stress. If you feel you need someone else to help with some of that weight on your shoulders, do not hesitate to ask.

Vaen rolled the letter up and tied it with a crimson strip of cloth. He glanced over to his left and handed the letter to the messenger boy, and the boy was on his way out.

Sitting back down, Vaen glanced over the chessboard. Chuckling slightly to himself, he began resetting the pieces.

Spawn sat in his office within his Sanctus manor reading over some notes at his desk. Suddenly, he heard a knock on the metal door of his office.

"Come in..." Spawn said glancing to the door. The metal door slowly opened with his servant entering the office. The servant approached his desk and bowed respectfully. "Yes Patrick?" Spawn asked leaning back in the chair.

"Sorry sire but this came for you by messager from Consul Swiftar" Patrick said placing the letter on Spawn's desk.

"Thank you Patrick..." said Spawn picking up the letter, opening it and starting to read. After finishing the letter, he placed it on the desk and took out a blank piece of paper. He dipped his pen in the ink well and began to write:

*************************************************************

Consul,

I have received your letter and appreciate you writing to me. It was my pleasure to assist the Republic in giving a tour of our glorious land to the Protectorate. You do not need to apologize for the immature behavior of some of them. I wanted to make sure the Protectorate saw first hand how much the Republic has improved the quality of life for the people of Minoc and Vesper. It is just disappointing that King Skyfire considers me one of his family yet he and others mock what I'm doing for the people of Northland. But it matters not to me, I shall continue to do my job as Praetor in making Minoc, Vesper and the Northland territories peaceful for everyone.

As for the second in command, I unfortunately have not decided as of yet. Perhaps I shall interview some that I feel may suit the position. I shall have to see in the upcoming days. For now, I shall be fine for the stress that comes with this position is somewhat second nature to me since I have held other positions similar to this one in the past. I do thank you Consul for offering me this chance to use my talents with law and justice to help the people of Northland. If I do need any help, I shall inform you immediately. Good day to you my friend.

Spawn rolled the letter, closed it with a seal and handed it to Patrick. The servant bowed respectfully before walking out of the office. Once the door shut, Spawn resumed reading over the papers on his desk.
