Greetings,

I pray all is well with you, your city, and Republic. Yew does well, now having rid itself of foreign domination. We have restored the Commonwealth and, much like your Republic, shall remain neutral, needing neither approval, nor aid, from anyone else, for what we do.

I am acting as interim Prime Minister until one can be elected from the new parliament. While serving in that capacity, I have, at my own expense, repaired the buildings that were once the West Yew University and have renamed the school that shall meet there, West Yew Academy. I am now seeking qualified instructors to teach various subjects, both needful and useful, since for many years, under the rule of a decadent aristocracy, education, among many other things, has been allowed to languish. In short, sir, I most humbly ask that you be the very first teacher of a course in the Academy.

If you are willing to do so, I would like to meet with you, at your leisure, to discuss the subject of your instruction. I know you are a very busy man and are still setting things in order in Minoc and the Republic, so there is no hurry to get started until you are ready. But a meeting would allow both of us to become better acquainted and settle on a timetable for the class.

In any event, I thank you for at least hearing me out and considering my proposal. I eagerly await your response.

I am honored that you have invited me to teach at the West Yew University. I would love to meet with you in person to talk about such a position, but before I do so, I must ask a few questions.

How does the Protectorate feel about this?
How does Umbra feel about this?
How does the Regency feel about this?

I am no loyalist or ally to any of the aforementioned entities, and I do not plan to be one. We, the Republic, are a neutral nation. But I just want to make sure that affiliating myself with the University will not press any undo stress on the foreign relations my Emissaries are building.

Should the University be established as a neutral entity that is sanctioned across the board, then I will be there, first thing, bright and early, on the first day of classes.

However, if teaching at the University would cause us to appear as possible enemies to anyone, I will air on the side of caution and politely decline your offer.

Greetings,

Pertaining to your query, I have no idea how any of those organizations or nations feel about this, nor do I care to ask them. This work is for the good of any who would like to benefit from your expertise. Once I have the teachers and courses ready, I will send and post invitations throughout the realms.

If anyone has issues with me or with Yew, I shall handle that, you need not worry. No one shall be prohibited from taking these classes. Indeed, we control nothing, only our own lives.

However, if you feel this will damage some relationship you are fostering with any of the governmental bodies you mentioned, I would hate that and would not put you to the test with them. I can find others who have no such scruples.

I am simply seeking the best and I know, from all accounts, you are one of them in Martial Arts. I could not be true to that purpose and omit asking you.

If there is a chance to meet to discuss this further, I would prefer it, but whatever your mind is on it, I am content. Thus I look forward to hearing from you.
