Emperor Armunn,

While our positions in Britannia have set as enemies, I know you are not a man void of honor, or pride. I also know that while both of our respective allies and loyalists fight valiantly this war impedes other plans we have for the future.

You have rejected I am told my offering to have our mutual friends on Verity Island mediate a neutrality agreement between us, so I propose a different course of action.

I challenge you.

I propose I set my greatest warrior against yours within Mazewood arena for three battles not for death, but merely incapacitation.

If "I" win you agree to the terms of my initial treaty, that is you swear on your honor to never make an offensive move against Protectorate allied and loyalist territory, and in return the Protectorate does not move on your territory and withdraw your forces from Mazewood.

If "you" win, I shall recall my forces from your triadic holding over Minoc, Vesper and Dark Cove, among other requests that we may agree to before the initial competition.

I truly hope you consider this request, I feel it will bring quick resolution to what would be an otherwise traumatic and damaging war. We can both move on to other things, we can both build our states, instead of trying to tear all of our efforts and waste our resources.

By the Grace of The Philosopher-King I remain,
Lord Adrien Garnier
Governor-Regent of Britannia

Adrien,

Even though I know beyond a doubt we would win this challenge should it arrise, I'm afraid because of a few things would prevent me from taking up this challenge, I cannot accept.

I find it amusing that it's a win win situation for you. If you win you get everything you wanted, and if I win, you just stop attacking Minoc, Vesper and Cove? I would state my demands for when my side wins, but the major issue being that it would restict my plans.

And that would entail beheading you, Talon and various other members of the Protectorate, to have the Protectorate sheep disband, and to expand my Empire and our Order.

So regardless of the outcome of the challenge, the plans for the future will most likey involve war and so the temporary effect that it would cause would just be that and would benefit your side more. You see, unlike your side, ours are full of and breed warriors. All war does is make us stronger and make your men tired and weaker.

So in ending, if you meet my demands to have a few heads, yours included ofcourse, the disbanding of the protectorate and have many that have fought against us bend a knee then I would be more then delighted to take that challenge.

But I'm afraid that you would never place anything of value on the table because you know as much as I do that you will loose this challenge.

Emperor Armunn,

You assume too much, I'd wager quite a bit...as I said I'd be happy to hear your conditions should you win.

Your cowardice is noted.

I Remain,

Adrien Garnier

Tarothin reads the reply and chuckles.

Cowardice... is that the best he can reply with? Our side as far less numbers then theirs and I wish to fight and kill them all. How is that cowardice?

The fool.

After debating for some time he writes a letter.

Adrien,

After considering your offer some more I choose to accept the challenge. Let us put in more variables though. Two of my soldiers against two of yours.

And I will temporarily put aside my wanting heads. But if we win, you and the protectorate will leave Felucca alone.

Emperor,

Agreed. But if you win, I shall leave every territory alone save for Yew, Nujel'm and Mazewood. The rest of the dying facet would be yours for the pillaging

Adrien,

Seeing that my vassel, Baron Thrax, my allies the Orcs are both in Yew while Sid the outsider resides in Trammel and does nothing to stop the lawlessness in Yew Felucca, this would have to be handed over to us should we win. To make up for Sid's loss you can always grant him other lands in Trammel where he belongs.

Also since Mazewood swore fealty to me, and Nujel'm have become allies to the Empire, they will not have outsiders in the Protectorate in which case they have no more affiliation to them, rule over them. So they too will be left alone by the Protectorate. You should stop trying to hold onto something not yours to begin with. They do not want your aid and they do not follow you like the other sheep do.

I am comprimising greatly on this as you should as well. I could always go back to asking for your head.

Are you sure you weren't thinking out loud about yourself when you foolishly wrote cowardice on the previous letter you wrote to me?

Emperor,

I've taken the liberty of quoting you, seeing as you seem to have severe issues following simple chains of human logic and reasoning, if you continue to have an issue with this, I shall borrow one of the children's pastel-chalks and attempt to continue our communications in pictograms.

Firstly, your Baron resides in the woods near Yew, I know this because I have eaten dinner at his home.

Secondly, I do not consider your "friends" the Orcs a species worthy of existence let alone land. It is a well known fact they are looting, pillaging, raping savages who are the work of sick and unnatural experiments.

It is a fact they are lower on the racial scale, agressive at birth, sloped head causes skull to press against brain destroying reasoning and sociability

The Duchess of Mazewood is the cousin to a member of Protectorate High-Command, and has emphatically requested her cousin be freed from the tyranny of your shrinking Empire.

Also, your quite mistaken, in reference to Nujel'm.

I thank you for your kindness, I'm sure from the breaking borders and crumbling lines of your Empire my head on a pike would be quite within your grasp.

How mature Emperor...

If you wish to be a man, and not a ill-mannered cheeky despot grumbling from his throne come and discuss the terms of our contest with civility, dignity and honor instead of hurling insults and interjections by letter.

Your next letter better be discussing a meeting for the laying out of terms, or else it will not be read nor replied to.

Charmed By Your Political Prowess and Fortitude As Always,

I remain,
Lord Adrien Garnier
Governor-Regent of Britannia

Adrien,

With Baron Thrax governing Yew, the Orc's will be well supplied and would not cause under the Empire as much problems by far then the roaming bands of muderors and theives that are now there.

As regards to Mazewood, her cousin may keep asking for it but does the Lady Starfire who governs it? I think not. Perhaps instead of trying to tell people what they want, instead of them living peacefully like they desire, things might be able to go more smoothly then you desire. Same goes with Tai and Nujhelm. It is my understanding that you have troops there on the Island. It causes people to act a bit friendlier.

Diminishing Empire? Pray tell me what land I have lost? If you want to say Yew then your as bigger a fool as I thought. We never invaded Yew. Those pathetic skirmishes were your army against just a scouting party. It that boosts your moral to push back the two to four people that had enjoyment harrassing your men, myself included, then you have about as much as a Mongbat. After all what besides rats or small children can a monbat actually kill?

If your talking about being able to attack my heartland then let me inform you that I can very well attack most of yours. We do hold a moongate after all. It would take no effort at all to invade say... Luna and trap any kind of aid that anyone can get from the strongest part of your pathetic alliance: Sanctus.

So this leads back to what you told me that I was foolish to assume. That in the end you leave me nothing except that I already have.

I do not play these little childrens circle games. Either speak to me something that is worth my time or I will see you on the battlefield.

Adrien,

After some thought, I refuse the challenge.

You may attack Vesper and Minoc as you desire. I wish you luck on trying to take the land.
