The pain of the foot in her abdomen jarred her awake abruptly. Ordered to her feet, she saw two drow women. One she recognized, the other must be the matron the other talked of. Vaskiira, grabbed her roughly by the arm and opened a gate dragging her through after she was told of her release. She saw daylight and was almost blinded by it as she had not seen it in so long.
Vaskiira pulled her to a sandstone building, where the priest was working outside. "You!", she called.
He looked at her and recognized Temptation, "My lady? "
"Take her and let the Baron know my end is fulfilled.", she hissed at the man.
Tempt was thrust forward harshly and practically collapsed in his arms. She felt him gently lift her and bring her into the building. Now, was this a dream or was it real? For the moment she did not care, she was free and it appeared in a safe place where people knew her. He stopped at a room and opened the door to lay her upon a bed.
She felt him check her limbs, paying close care to the bandaged shoulder. "Well, you are safe, but very thin. I will let the Baron know, you have been returned to us." He said softly, "I will also send for Poppy to help you bathe and fetch the clothes you kept here."
She looked at him with a confused expression, "Who are you? Who is the Baron? Who is this Poppy, and tell me who am I?", she whispered using the remnants of her strength.
"My Lady Temptation, you do not know me?", he let out a sigh and realized she lost her memory. "I am Setnakht, loyal priest of this Temple built for the Baron's wife, whom you serve loyally. The Lord Thrax and the Lady Ishtar, they live across the way. Poppy is their cook and nanny, she knows you as well.", she watcher her expression and thought it was too much for her. Her eyes closed soon after and she faded.
He rose and went to fetch Poppy, to give her word and have her care for the woman. On his way, he stopped by Scaramandine's room to give him the news of her return. The man seemed less sullen after the news. With a nod the priest continued on his way... _________________ "Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead."

Scar got quickly off the bed where he lay resting, put on his shirt, and hurried to Tempt's room. He could see from her expression that she was shocked and a bit angry by his sudden, unannounced, intrusion into her room.
"Who are you?! Get out of here!" she scolded him, wincing from the pain of the sudden movement as she sat up in bed.
Hurrying toward her to smother her in an embrace, he instead stopped dead in his tracks. "Tempt? It's me, Scar. Don't you know me?" ... |

The strange tall man loomed in front of her. Her eyes narrowed at him as she ordered him from her room and pulled the sheets closer about her. "I do not know you. Get out!", she said back angrily.
He was still frozen and looked utterly at a loss. After a long pause, his expression softened. "Temp, it's Scar. We have been friends along time. I am not going to hurt you. I was happy to hear you were here and safe, I wanted to see you.", his eyes lowered a bit as he spoke in a softer tone.
She relaxed a little and tears formed , falling back in the bed, she curled up almost into a ball and sobbed, "I don't remember you. I don't remember anyone, not even myself."
Slowly, he came closer and reached into his pocket taking out the locket she gave him some time before, he opened it to reveal the lock of her hair in it and gently put it in her hands. "You gave this to me, your hair is in it. Look.", he whispered.
She wiped away the tears and rolled over to look at it. Her fingered, felt the contours of the locket and she rubbed the lock of hair between her fingers, then held it near her own. "It is mine?" she looked up at him with big eyes and managed a slight smile. "Why do you have this?", she asked as she handed it back. _________________ "Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead."

Deciding she needed a break, Ishtar walked outside into the dusk and across to the temple. It would be good to see Lady Tempt even if she may not know who she is. Reaching in to her pocket she removed the scarab that bore her friends name and the eye of protection. At least this would be returned to it's owner.
The priest met her at the door and walked her up to her friends room. Tempt was sound asleep and she did not wish to disturb her. She walked in quietly and placed the scarab in her hands. The gently stroked her hair. "She is thin.", she whispered, "I'll bring some of the stew she liked from Papua tomorrow. Maybe you and Poppy can get her to eat."
The priest smiled at her and walked with out of the room. "Scar was excited to here of her return, but was unaware of her memory loss and it did not go so well.", he informed her.
"Everyone will need to take extra care and help. I do not want her traumatized too much. It may make this permanent if you assessment is correct.",she placed a hand on his shoulder and patted him gently.
He looked up at her, "I understand and those orders will be followed."
"Anyone gets her overly upset should leave her be at least for a while. It may take quite some time to restore her memory.", Ishtar stated.
"I examined her injuries, she took a good blow to the head. I have treated a similar case years ago and they did not recover all their memory. I will advise, she may never be who she once was. ",he explained.
"I am aware and have heard of such. Do your best. I sent word to Lord Malic, it may help it may not, but take care in gauging her reaction.",she said to him. He nodded in agreement. Then escorted her out. It will be a long next few days. _________________ "Knowledge is not information, it's transformation."

Tempt stared at the fire, it must have been the wee hours of the morning and she was unable to sleep after Scar left her room. He must be a good friend for he watched over her so vigilantly and even told her he risked his own life to free her from the drow that held her beneath the earth. Even he was injured in the attempt.
Yet, she still had so many unanswered questions, a mysterious fiancee, who had yet to show his face. Why would a man ask one to marry him and then do nothing to aid them? Not even check on them? She asked if he loved her and Scar insisted this man, named Malic did, but the lack of action did not seem to show that. She sighed, knowing that if she focused on all the "what if's and unknowns", it would give her a headache.
Scar explained a little, but she felt he was not saying all of what he knew of her past. Lifting her left hand, she felt the bump on her head and the stitches the priest, so delicately made to mend the gash on her head. In a few days he would remove them, and he hoped as the would healed her memory would return. Maybe then she would get the answers she craved.
She felt a hand gently touch her shoulder and she almost jumped out of her seat startled. She put her hand on her chest as she tried to catch her breath and re-settled herself in the chair. "Scar, you scared me.", she said as he helped her get comfortable.
"I am sorry, I did not mean too and when I went to check on you, you were not in your room. I went to look for you.", he told her as he took the seat next to her.
She nodded and then turned to look at him, "Thank you for looking after me."
He smiled as he settled into his chair, "It is what friends do for each other."
She turned back to the fire and let out a breath. She felt comfort now, she was not alone anymore and not afraid. As she stared into the flames, she asked, "You said I am a warrior, where is my armor?"
He paused before he responded, "Well I think it is in the home you were living at. We can send Poppy to fetch it for you tomorrow."
"I would like things of mine here, so I can remember more. I want my armor.", she said rather plainly.
"Then we will get it tomorrow.", he smiled a bit.
"The priest said, I had clothes here but why not other things. I still do not understand?", she turned to watch his face.
He hesitated again, "You spent a lot of time here, once you were injured by a lycan and you finished recovering here. So you always kept clothing here."
Now she was positive he was not telling her everything by his hesitation, "Ah, I see." ,and she continued to look at him till his eyes would face hers.
When his gaze met hers, her expression softened. she understood, he was trying to protect her. For now she would wait to press him for more information. Perhaps the priest would know more, if he would tell her. Now, she was warm, safe and in the company of a friend. She sank in the chair and closed her eyes... _________________ "Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead."
