The following letter has been handed to Regent Ramses...

"Your Excellency,

I had an unannounced visit from Lord Adrien Garnier at my home today. He brought word to me of great importance that I wish to relate to you. I also wish to clarify my actions of late regarding Yew, Felucca.

He told me that Spawn, that is, Oggaroth, interrupted the Protectorate's meeting much the same way he interrupted our own last week, with threats and promises that included handing Yew over to me. I could scarcely believe my ears at what he was saying, but he said he had witnesses. He also insinuated that I had ties to the Dark Order and promised I would be excoriated, blacklisted, and arrested by the Protectorate if I do. He claims these ties are part of my plan to remove King Sid from Yew; that they act on my behalf in some way as does Oggaroth.

My lord, it is true that I have hired powerful mercenaries to wage war against Sid to remove his tyranny from Yew. I have not asked, nor will I ask, what allegiances or alignments or religion they espouse as I do not care; it is none of my business. I simply pay them to fight for me and the free people of Yew, Felucca. I looked for the best warriors and found them. They do serve honor and justice and that is all I need to know.

As for Oggaroth, he is my avowed and hated enemy and will say or do anything to discredit or tempt me. If he does actually fight on my side for Yew, I can only offer that he is truly the mad god that I know him to be.

Now I find myself facing the supposed, yet untested, might of the Protectorate. I accept that. I do not ask nor wish the Regency to be involved in this land dispute, or to be responsible for my safety from these interlopers in other men's affairs. I can handle it myself, and shall, in time and in my own way.

However, I do want you to be apprised of this situation, lest a situation develop where you feel forced to act on my behalf to intervene. There is no need for it. I will see to my own, and my family's, defense.

May your reign continue unabated and as fruitful as it has been thus far.

To the true Sovereign and Steward of Sosaria from your servant,

Thraxanduril
Baron of Thraxstadt
Minister of Foreign Affairs
The Regency Council"
