Ishtar focused on her work the past few days after her husband told her what he had done. It disturbed her and she feared he would turn back into the man that more resembled his diabolical twin than the man she married. For once in a long time she felt helpless, as she dared not say a word to her sister or brother in law. Lady Temptation was missing and the only other person she viewed as a confidante was encased in a ruby prison.
Her eyes then focused to the gilded box that held the gemmed scarab and the spirit of her friend. A flood of thoughts ran through her, after she though of the disaster with Oggaroth's release from the gem that held him. She knew the demon fed off chaos and Jode released if done in the wrong way could do just that. She took in a deep breath and moved towards the box and unlocked it. Her slender elvish fingers lifted the amulet from its resting place. Holding it a few moments she wondered if they could still exchange thoughts.
Maybe it was time to set him free, at least in a proper way. If only he could still speak to her. Unsure what to do at the time, she threaded a delicate chain through the amulet and fastened it about her neck. She felt safer having it in her possession and locked the box again, before she went to the library. If there was a way to speak with him and to release him, it would be in the tomes. _________________ "Knowledge is not information, it's transformation."
