Regardless of who the books are for, or for whatever reason, unless they are books dropped to cause drama, as members of the community, we should respect those peoples rights to drop them. At no point, and at no time should anyoen try to dictate how others play the game so long as those people are not actively griefing them. That is how I see it.

It's annoying but it won't stop. I had problems with that when i had vendors up. Just don't let it get under your skin cause there isn't anything you can do about it. It's not like it's a bannable offense.

It's annoying...but honestly not a massive deal.

Even if you catch the theif, they won't stop.

Eventually they will get bored and it will stop.

Doesn't hurt to let people know. Normally we stop dropping a few days and it stops. Or we'll gate instead for a bit. But for those who run shops its a pain in the rear.

Taking items placed on the ground that are meant to be picked up is now stealing and griefing? *boggles*

I guess it's been *thinks* 6 years or so since the last leg was chopped off thieves though, I shouldn't be surprised.

When someone takes up all of the runes dropped, or changes books to something deragatory, then yeah that would be griefing.

The griefing standards have really dropped then. Be glad the thief community is dead. I guess it's hard to move when your arms and legs have been cut off and you've been nailed into a coffin though. I could come up with a list of stuff more annoying than grabbing runes if anyone wants a list of things to be thankful they're not experiencing. I think house barreling would be at the top of that list, with tinkering blocking being a very close second.

Regarding book dropping, editing them can result in fun. Someone once dropped a bunch of books for a vampire guild (not affiliated with the community), a vampire RPer picked one of them up and brought it to one of our meetings and presented it as a threat to us. The thing is, the one he picked up had been edited to say "homosexual" instead of vampire in several places. That cracks me up to this day.

Believe me... people don't need help with coming up with ways to grief other players, rune stealing is just one of the more immature and childish ways being used these days.
