The following letter was sent by special courier to Adrien Garnier:

"Lord Garnier,

I found our recent meeting pleasant and most enlightening, so much that I made haste to meet with the Regent to relate the details of it to him (and also lest the memory of our talks fail me).

I did my utmost to convey to him everything you told me, concerning your organization and intentions for it, and your overtures of hospitality and respect.

You will remember that I told you that I was fairly certain he would not accept your proposals, and I was correct. He may of his own accord send you a letter outlining his reasons (as I advised him to) or he may not.

This leaves us no choice but to declare that both organizations go their own ways. I pray that no further "splinter" groups evolve from this precedent, but I hold out no hope that they will not. Events such as these have far-reaching consequences.

I thank you for taking time to visit my home, share a meal, and discuss issues in a gentlemanly and friendly fashion as we both did.
