You shouldn't have to do that. Nobody should. That is one of those things that bother me about Atlantic and keep me away. |

You know Cein, your mentioning of UO freeshards sparked something my brain. I've thought about it before. If things are like this in ARPC now, with war in Fel, and people wanting to make landclaims. Wouldnt a ARPC freeshard be a neat idea to give a shot?
Just a thought. |

|
Hands down its the unique and diverse characters i have met and the friendships that have developed from rping with them.
I know theres drama, and I know there are all sorts of reasons not to rp. However the human friendship factor keeps bringing me back. Now that is not to say I dont have a life outside of here. However there is an opportunity here to talk to people on the other side of the country than I.
People that i would have never known, who have made a vast impact in my life. For this I am thankful for to never know you would be a loss for me. Now add to this a girl who graduated highschool with the hopes and dreams of one day breaking into musical theatre but ended up supporting the family by becoming an accountant. In other words I love to act and rping fulfills that drive within me. It makes my day job a little more tolerable.
I started playing just to hang out with a family member that was on here all the time. I scowled a bit at it. I remember thinking after the first night of playing how I *Hoped she didnt want me on regularly like this*.
I laugh now becuase i have had my ups and downs, my periods of playing alot and playing a little. For almost three years now I have always returned back and enjoyed hearing about the snow outside your windows, wishing well the people that pass thru here.
I must say I am renewed when I think of these things. Thankyou all for this will always be within my heart and my memories. Its the most adventure a mother of three children will ever have in her life.... (and still remain safe lol) _________________ Something is Wrong, I can still feel Existence... |

It has unofficially happened once, and unofficially been talked about more times than I can count. However I don't think the topic'll go over well on this board with that ToS taboo and whatnot. |

I've always roleplayed Legerion as if he was me being an elf and much deeper and reserved.
But i've always thought that roleplay must come from deep inside, like a gut feeling when you do it. Which is why i've never really roleplayed any other characters than Legerion in UO. (I've "roleplayed" a gnome obsessed with cookies in WoW which was quite fun actuly).
Also the thing with Legerion is that I created the character for a story that a friend of mine was writing and while she was writing the 4th chapter I decided to take what she had done with it and use it as a base when I started roleplaying in UO over 6 years ago and I actuly remember how I got invited into it all. It had been about a week since I had started playing UO which was in January 2001 and I was killing brigands at the camp north of the Brit crossroad just north of the Citadel when a member from the "Elven guild" of Stormhaven approached me and invited me back at the Oakmanor which was then a tower like the citadel right next to it. But after that it's mostly dark except for some parts from when I was with KoS until I joined OPG. But back to the story I remember when I started roleplaying that it was hard to deal with the changes made by my friend to the character's back story , such as being a King in another world and well the "other world" part too which then became used when referring to other
MMORPGs.
But in all.... it's the people that marked my time as a roleplayer in this community. Madame Cassandra or Cassou as I call her , Rufus O'ryan with whom I spent a lot of time reasoning in-game, Bane Blackhart which was Legerion's human spiritual brother, Lestat which was another of Legerion's "brother" even though the extreme "racial" differences hehe, Isk which gave me a home when I last came back and all the others that I didn't mention Lia, Lady Labelle, Sir Robert, Arcana, Dinas Emery, Brightblade, Lily Prower, Sarah O'ryan, Lady Winter, ... old man... did I enjoy rping with him? and i've even enjoyed roleplaying with you Molly!! LOL i'm just kidding actuly I always feel better when I hear that you're still around .
Anyway maybe this far into the topic all this is irrelevant but I was inspired so.... yeah.
And of course there is the spot where we get to complain eh? LOL nah i've done enough of that over the years just because I was a kid and didn't understand.
UO is still around for a while don't worry about that . _________________ Legerion Sorcafor

Cause I have done all the Peerless, Champ Spawns, and other stuff. I can't play alot of PC games, because they tend to make me nauseous. Its either RP or leave the game. There is nothing materialistic in Game I don't already have. Almost nothing that I have not already done. Thats why I RP. |

"To air is human, to roleplay the air is toxic is devine!"
You know, I could farm gold all day. To some, even the 10 year vets, this is the game for them. Whatever, you get out of the game what you put in it, to each there own. I was very fortunate to find a guild that took me and my mediocre characters in. At the time I had only been playing for about a month, and none of my characters were strong, but they overlooked that, trained me, gave my characters a purpose in the community. They showed me the world of Ultima and made it real, and for that I shall always be in there debt.
Roleplaying is just that, it makes this computer imagery come alive, it makes you think and act accordingly to a situation. When we roleplay, we become the lore. If you old fogeys hadn't gave me the lore, this game would eventualy get stale.
Roleplaying, being one of the citizens of Britania, this keeps me coming back day after day. This whole community, everyone involved, makes this game real. I'm bassicly a newb, with just over a year in, but with what I've learned from the elders, I sometimes feal that I've been here forever. Thankyou!
Now, I just set and wait for more of you to go to wOw or NWN or freeshards so that I can place a castle in Brit and reign as the true succesor of Lord British. Anyone have the Avatar's ICQ??? |
