What the hell is with the older RPers? do they think WE dont care? why not transfer the house when your closing the account? I feel like blowing chunks. Not cool.

Several old houses have fallen in the past few months, theres been no announced changes to the housing system, so I'm not sure why they are all falling...

Auren Therion's fell around 2 months ago, the house near Cear fell around that time as well, Ibn Shaun's fell a month ago or so, Cerydon's and another Riv house toppled a few weeks ago, Nick of Time's fell today and so did the Runt Shack, plus theres been a few old Yew houses dropping over this past 2 months as well.

Seems a tad odd all these old places are falling at once.

I've tried to keep up with it all since I have all the old places marked, but its tough to check them all every few days.

well we all know thy the house by me fell. 4 years of insessant bitching and GM paging. on year 4 we got two gms to raid the house. then by clever method of lying we got them to start the timer. when the timer counted down to collapse and the house was still there. GMs knew someting was up. and made damnsure it fell.

Maybe there is a bug that is keeping some houses from falling then and things are starting to get straightened out.

Is there some sort of new round of house dropping or the like? Some new patch that does something equally asinine?

Unlike here i've gotten zilch from the Orc boards yet, so i'll go ahead and assume that the goings on of UO are uninteresting for them and they are unconcerned. Once I find out from Grish what is up, we can get a better idea if we need a house placed or not. If someone feels like placing, feel free. I'll update you later with a decision from the others.

If I remember to, I'll call him tomorrow and beatch :/ He coulda offered it to someone in Orc. I think the Runt Shack was on one his accounts too. Not sure of the AMT house was one of Grish's or not, but I know he was long loooong ago part of AMT.

The Runt Shak is what most of the community calls the Orc Fort.

And there have been multiple plans to transfer the Shak to another Orc (specifically one named Urg'na). I don't know if it ever went through. If it did, then I guess I need to get in contact with him instead. I know Grish hasn't been as keen as keeping his accounts since a certain other house fell. We shall see.

I do remember that the building has been "improperly placed" since forever, but that never meant anything before and several GM's even assured us it didn't matter.

I'll call Grish this morning and I already sent him a message. I know he transferred most of the houses off of the accounts he has closed. Last we talked there were some he was not going to be able to because of being misplaced. Apparently they are cracking down on that more. We have already lost the Blood God Shrine which was the original orc building along with some others. Sad

Very very few orcs play anymore so if you see an old orc building getting ready to fall, you might want to say something beforehand. I was sure Grish had said the shak was moved off his account so hopefully nothing happened to Urg'na's.

Unfortunately after years of paying for the account Grish no longer saw a point in spending out the money. I tried to help out how I could and paid for the shak for a few months, but I didn't have the money either.

The clan was at one time very strong and amazing in UO - now we are just strong and amazing, the UO part is the only thing that has really changed.

I wish I could have been there to get some of the items and such, but real life keeps pressing down on me with stupid things like "bills" and "work", but honestly the memories are what I keep and they are all in my head. I am still kinda bummed that the Runt Shak is gone, but it has been literally over a year since it really seen any runts. Even longer since more than two or three orcs had a chance meeting there. The loss of the Runt Shak is not just a part of ORC history, but part of UO history and I guess it officially ends that chapter of the story.

Before anyone gets too sad, just think about it like this - when was the last time you even logged into UO? The game hasn't been the same for a long time and there is little chance of it returning to it's former glory. I am still here, and so is anyone reading this. ORC isn't gone, and technically it is still in UO too since the clan isn't bound to a stone, but what made ORC so awesome was us and we are still here.

That is what I posted this morning on the Clan scrolls, but I wanted the community to know too. I am still around and still in UO, but I can't afford to juggle more accounts, so I'm down to just one, my original. Honestly, the time of the Stormreaver Orc clan has passed, but perhaps this will open up a space for a new group to come in and be the orcs we used to be. We are always around, even if you can't see us anymore.

Yeah, that was what I'd though happened. Last time we talked, he said something about it being a waste of money since he no longer played. I ask him to let me know first and offered to hold one of his buildings at least for memories sake, but guess he decided not to.

Sorry Orcies *petpets and offers sympathy*

I know the feeling myself though. While it was his own building, seeing when Zym had the Hungy Halfling redone as a ruin was heartbreaking, same for me when Caina collapsed, and while I was never in the guild nor directly involved, same when Wintermoore ceased to exist.

I am saddened like you can't believe. I was thinking it was time to check the status of my buildings, but like Urg'na said, times are tough and money is tight. I have to worry about things like rent and food first.

Perhaps its for the best. Empires rise, have their time in the sun, then fall, only to become legend and inspire the future.
