[Temptation Waits]

Looking out from the balcony of her new surroundings she was still taking it all in. It had a been a long time, she felt she could be in a place she could call home. Malic's invitation for her to move in with him was a bit surprising though they had been seeing each other for a while now. It warmed her heart to think of him, in a way that was far different than she had ever felt before. This was a big change, it would take some time for her to adjust to it, though she doubted it would take long to do so.

This was the happiest she had been in months. Even the chilling nightmares had stopped. She was no longer awaking with strange cuts on her body that seemed to appear from no where. She shuddered a bit, the origins of those dreams was still unknown to her and she would only remember vague details at best. Whatever the reason for their disappearance, she was grateful. The mysterious cuts haunted her for a long time as well as the dreams of her parents death. To this day orcs still terrified her in a manner that was unspeakable.

Yes, this was a change for the better. She felt at home and now her life was taking a longed for direction. Her future no was not as dismal as she once thought it would become. Things felt better, her step was lighter. She was recovered as well, though her should was still a bit tender at times. She rubbed it absentmindedly as she went back inside the house to await Malic's return.

Ceinwyn had arrived at Malic's home to see how he was recovering. She had heard that Sanctus had been fighting in Minoc, again. Someone like Malic would not turn down a chance to fight for his cause.

When she walked in, she could tell he was not alone, and when she entered his bedroom, she saw Temptation there. The woman who had gotten pissy at the tavern. Well, at least Ceinwyn understood why, now. Malic introduced the woman as his.

After Ceinwyn discovered he was fully recovered, she decided to take her leave. Three was a crowd, after all. She wondered exactly how long Malic had been seeing the woman, and if the woman knew about Malic and herself.

Not more than a few days ago he wanted to marry me. I wonder if that woman knows that.

Ceinwyn realized as she walked out the door that she and Malic would continue their relationship, and that no, he would likely never admit it.

Malic stood on his porch thinking of his past and the forbidden moments he had had with Ceinwyn. He knew that she was right and they could not be together. Twas foolish for him to even think of it really. He looks in through the window and watched Tempt arranging her things and smiled.

"This is the right thing. I am sure of it," He said outloud. "She makes me very happy."

Malic went back into his quarters to meet Tempt. "How are you adjusting my dear? Are the citizens warming up to you yet?" He watched her move her things about and organize his a bit better than he could try to. They talked for a while about many things. He smiled more with each moment, realizing that he was becoming happy again. Something he has only felt through work and duty. Now he could live more fulfilled.
