Years ago, when Lord British ruled, he established three principles to govern by, and from these three principles, he defined eight virtues. The principles are Truth, Love, and Courage. These three principles are the cornerstone and building blocks of the virtues that honorable men and women try to live by in our world.

From Truth we gain Honesty. Love leads to Compassion. And from Courage grows Valor. By combining Truth and Love we get a better understanding of Justice. Love and Courage combined is Sacrifice. Truth and Courage is Honor. All three principles together brings us Spirituality. And the lack of all three brings pride, the opposite of which is Humility. This philosophy has come to be known as the Codex of Ultimate Wisdom.

I have been around since the beginning, and I agree with Lord British on these points. However, I would like to expand somewhat. I have come to believe that without TRUTH there is no virtue, for how can you be compassionate without being truthful? You can not lie to the ones you care about or you do nothing but hurt them. You can not lie to yourself and show Valor, for often times the Truth is a much harder pill to swallow, and it takes courage to face.

Without Truth, you can not consider yourself virtuous although you might attempt to adhere to the eight virtues otherwise.

The one greatest Truth I have discovered in my travels is that as a whole, people tend to believe what they want to believe, disregarding the truth if it means that they would have to accept something that they would not want. And these same people tend to attack those that speak the Truth that they do not want to hear. In that there is no compassion. In that, there is no justice, and in that there is no virtue.

The Heralds of Truth shall seek out the Truth, and albeit it is a hard path, a lonely path, that is the path that we shall take. We don't seek to expose the truth, but to simply learn and speak the truth. We seek to teach the value of Truth, and hope that others can find it within themselves to adhere to the principle of truth.
