Rhiannon stretched out on the blanket she had laid on the ground. She was camping for the night. The night was so beautiful, she was not going to waste it by staying in the inn tonight. She planned to collect her belongings from Lee’s house tomorrow. It was time for her move out and take care of herself. She had not been successful at this task before. In fact, she had made quite a mess of things, but she felt ready to give it another go.

She smiled as she rolled over on her side and watched the flames in the fire dance with one another. She thought of the day’s events. She had decided to devote herself to Moonglow at Lee’s assurance that the Council was a noble, worthwhile devotion. Moonglow had welcomed her and she felt a sense of connection with the town. She felt quite proud when she was initiated, but was quickly perturbed when she was instructed to replace her red wardrobe with the guild colors – blue. Of all colors – blue.

Fong and Rhiannon had had another chance meeting that night. She smiled and blushed while thinking of him. This time, she had been more comfortable. They spoke briefly about her new colors. When she expressed some reservations about the blue, Lord Fong had frowned. He liked the color. She looked down at her clothes and decided to make the best of things. She took this chance to flirt with him a bit
Well sir, if you like it on me then I am more than happy to wear it.

He seemed happy with this, but as usual – his thoughts were so hard to read. They had decided to go for a walk when a stranger approached them. A woman…

The woman and Fong knew each other. Her name was Ceinwyn. The woman seemed very bright. She spoke off the cuff quickly and impressively – even though she was a bit rude to Rhiannon when they introduced themselves to each other. Rhiannon didn’t care – she had dealt with rude women before.

Ceinwyn asked if she was interrupting something and Rhiannon thought, Woman, if you have to ask then you probably are. However, the manners Lee had been pushing for Rhiannon to use forced her to bite her tongue. Instead, she told the woman they were headed to Sanctus for a drink and invited her to come with them.

To Rhiannon’s dismay, the woman accepted.

Damn it, Rhiannon thought.

Lee’s manners prevailed again and Rhiannon replied, Good! Let’s be off, shall we?

Fong had been rather quiet. He opened the gate and the three arrived at Hanse’s Hostel. Fong ordered a round of drinks. The trio sat, mostly staring at each other for a few seconds. Chit chat began to take place and Ceinwyn stated with a bit of a smirk that she and Fong had known each other for years…they had been lovers some time ago.

Rhiannon had mixed emotions about this. There was a twinge of jealousy – a feeling quite new to Rhiannon. At the same time, her curiosity was perked. She thought - Well, Lord Fong – maybe there is a bit of bad boy in you…she certainly doesn’t seem like an innocent woman...

The conversation drifted to politics. Ceinwyn talked about things that seemed very important, but Rhiannon had no idea what any of it meant. At one point Lord Fong had lost his temper and yelled at Ceinwyn. Rhiannon was alarmed to see the usually reserved man lose control. Yet, again, she was even more intrigued.

Passion…the man is passionate! Mmmm.

The politics drug on and on. Finally, Rhiannon couldn't take it anymore – attracted to Fong or not – this boredom was simply more than she could stand. She suggested politely that she would leave them to their politics. She would be on her way. Ceinwyn interrupted and stated that she would leave instead. Rhiannon watched her go – still wondering what to think of her. She was a feisty woman – Rhiannon liked her – well, as much as she could like anyone who had shared a bed with Fong.

Finally, they were alone again. She flirted – aggressively. Yet, he did not return her advances – not yet anyway. Before they left the tavern, she had managed to make him blush – and blush hard! He had also given her a kiss on the cheek…She was quite pleased – and very happy.

They made their way back to town where he picked another flower for her. It was she that was blushing now. He bid her good eve and said he would see her tomorrow…

Now she lay on the ground gazing at the stars and smelling the flower.

She spent the next hour or so daydreaming about their past encounters and the possibility of more to come. Finally, she drifted off to sleep where she continued to dream of him.
