Jerrick was dead quiet as he moved through the deserted streets of Magicinia. It had taken him quite some time to arrive here from Drayden's home, but it seemed the rumors Drayden had caught wind of were not unfounded. This place was quiet, terribly quiet. This made the man's skin chill slightly, no small feat for the seasoned veteran. It appeared that things were in order. Excpet for the lack of animals.
He was perched by the bank, deep in the shadows, as he had been for several hours. Most of the citizens of this city were in their homes. He had seen one pass by in the last hour and that was most likely not a native to these parts. He made his way around the city slowly, slinking from shadow to shadow, alley to alley. He always kept his dagger tucked under his cuff.
Good thing you pay well you nosey drow.[\i] Mr. Starke grinned at that thought. He liked Drayden, a bit to honorable and noble for his tastes. But they have had a good working relationship. He had saved Jerrick's life on more than one occassion, and in the assassin's eyes, that meant that Jerrick would serve him until the debt was paid.
He was finishing his second round of the city when he passed near the moongate. [i]This is what Drayden wanted...better do this quickly before I'm spotted. He pulled the small gem from a pouch and walked to the moongate..looking at it cautiously as he approached. He did as the dark elf had told him and hesitantly thrust his closed fist with the gem into the portal.
Nothing happened.
Jerrick blinked, holding his arm in the field of the Moongate for several more moments. The gem hopefully doing what it should. He withdrew his hand slowly and looked at the now lightly glowing gem in hand and tucked it away. "Time to get the hell out of this place...." The stillness in Magicinia made him uneasy.
It was most definently time for him to head to the docks and begin his journey back to the Tower. He had lingered far too long.
(IC acknowledgement of this is encouraged. I was IG last night and did this.) |
