Walter's idea is sound and would work quite well.

Truthfully, I don't like the idea of one vote per guild. There are quite a few who may take an interest and want to make their voice heard, but are just normal players. I prefer the one vote per person, (not character) to keep it truly fair.

As for Walter's idea, that has merit. It definately would stop a tie.

This would all be cleared up perfectly if we fast forward IC'ly a few years and just make Tarothin the ultimate ruler of darkness watching the world crumble and the survivors bowing at his feet begging to be saved.

Walter's idea is probably the best idea you're ever going to get here.

What you SHOULD do, as far as who can vote if you want to create more RP, is set up a Voters Registration Weekend, where you hold a time and place where people can come to register for voting. Don't show up? Sorry, you can't vote.

Helps keep things more IC.

I like the idea of voter registration, but I work two jobs. I am usually at work on weekend nights.

I like Walter's idea, though.

Here's an idea, we hold a tournament,... say at The SCAR Collisium in Britain, Fellucia on the 20th of October at 9pm, and everyone comes. At the event, we have labled boxes locked down with each of the candidates names and everyone brings a book of which they write down their candidate and the name of there character, and places them in the appropriate box. Once it's dropped in the box it will be locked down.
We then let my associate, Captain Brutus Fryd, count all the votes and report the winner on the 21st. He is a honest person IRL, and would make a great, unbiased vote tabulator. The names of the voters can be checked against the number of people friended to the house to assure one vote per person.

The Dark Order will be holding/pausing it's official possition for a day or two.

Tarothin had a point. The D|O may not be voting because we are doing this in FULL IC mode. (Unless Ditto screws up what he just said if someone bribes her with candy. No joke.)

And, Yes, I have another annoying question or 2 tonight...

Can that guild decide to make a 1 into a 0, basically choosing not to rank one of the candidates at all?

Also, is Galnor Bloodmoon still considered as one of the candidates? I'm confused on that point.

I am not sure if he would be considered a candidate. He sent a representative to the first meeting and didn't send anyone or come himself for the debate and has not posted his idea of what government he would like to see instituted. If he is still planning on being a candidate he might want to make it known and participate in the events.

I like the voter registration and the ranking candidates idea...I also like being able to rank them giving 4-0 not 5-1. I really want to give the one I disagree with the most a 0.
Also only one vote per guild. So the guilds will register. That way if the GM is not available (Tai) then another member can register the guild.

What I'm not down with is ooc bribery. That's just pathetic. If anyone is going to bribe/blackmail for votes, it should be done ICly.
