Doireann was in her new home in Umbra, ordering servants to place things where she demanded. “No, no, the statue goes outside, not.., no. Over there, outside.” Of all the “feminine” tasks in the world, this was the only one she enjoyed. There was something about decorating a house that made you know you were home. She was even in such a benevolent mood, she had turned the basement into a dungeon for the children. And X’eros, too, she thought with a small chuckle. She looked outside to make sure the statue was being placed right when she saw a pigeon swooping down. The servants, in shock, released the statue, shattering it. Doireann gave a small sigh and walked down, gently picking the bird up. “Can you please clean the mess?” she looked at the servants, the woman looking abashedly at the floor for her over-reaction. Doireann just grinned and took the bird, heading up the stairs.
She placed the bird down, and read the note.
Quote: | A package has arrived at The Wayfarer's Inn, here in East Britain. It is addressed to you Doireann. You can find it in the front desk. -Innkeeper Melissa |
Doireann nodded, and stood up, getting a bit of bird seed for the bird. She called for the female who dropped the statue, requesting she release the bird when it wished to leave. The woman gave her a funny look but agreed as Doireann recalled away.
She landed in West Britain, and began running towards the east side, her dress flowing behind her. Mentally she cursed the dress, longing for her armor and tunic. She made her way finally into the inn and looked around. The place was eerily silent.
“Melissa?” She called looking around. Her steps slowed as she placed her right hand on her Katana, walking with caution down the hall. She saw no one, and turned, heading back, her katana still sheathed, but now her hand tightening as she glanced around. Then her eyes spied upon it. A present. Grinning, she picked up the present with both hands and held it to her ear, shaking it. Ku-thunk, ku-thunk, ku-thunk A small, mischievous grin formed on her face as she ripped the wrapper off the package, paper flying all around her, the ribbon in shreds. She opened it and suddenly, her smile faded as her eyes widened. Inside the package was a severed head. Poor Sap, she thought, staring at the head. She saw a small book next to it. “Death to Traitors,” she read allowed, musing over the words. “The punishment for treason is death.” She saw the signature, X, and tried to think who it could be. Suddenly she began to grin. Apparently she had annoyed someone immensely. Either Samon or one of his loyalist, or someone with the regency. She gave a small shrug. Whichever it was, she was amused. [i] At least the person was nice enough to provide the children a new toy to play with, [/i} she thought, thinking of the head as she said a few words, appearing next to her home. |

A bird arrived in Umbra, in much the exact same way, instructing Ceinwyn to look for a package inside the Wailing banshee Inn. Upon arrival, she found the following message:
Quote: | DEATH TO TRAITORS!
THE PUNISHMENT FOR TREASON IS DEATH!
TRAITOR TO THE CROWN WILL PERISH BY THE NUJEL'M GUILLOTINE
We know of you and will go out of our way to ensure a painful death.

Idiots. I am already dead. And I was never a loyalist. So how did I commit treason? One thing is for certain, this did not come from the Regency. It reeks of a setup.
I wonder if Lord Sid is behind it... |

A sentry clad in black & gold presented the box to the King.
Ignoring the ever-so-common severed body part, Talon read through the missive.
"Traitors? Thats amusing. Tis difficult to be a traitor to the Regency when one is of an entirely different country."
The missive found its way to the hearth-fire as quickly as it arrived. _________________ ~Lord Talon Skyfire
