Hello everyone..
Ive never really played a necromancer before so am asking those who have to give me some advice on what the best templete would be warrior wise for one.. now the guy is going to be a Roleplay character but I want him also to be able to hold his own in a battle. Ive thought about doing a templete like the one listed below but not sure how effective it will be.. the following templete is..
Fencing
Tactics
Spirit Speak
Necomancing
Anatomy
Parrying
Focus or Med
or this templete
Fencing
Tactics
Spirit Speak
Necro
Parrying
Posioning
Focus or Med
Any advice on what a good templete for a Necro warrior would be most welcome and much appericated since Id be new at making one..hehe. so start pouring in the advice.. |

Necro warriors are a cramped template now with the new changes... mine is exactly the same as this one right now:
Fencing
Tactics
Spirit Speak
Necro
Parrying
Posioning
Med _________________ "There are those who dream to escape reality, and there are those who dream to change it." |

Halister has my setup almost exactly, except I had focus over parry. Warriors were indeed a problem for me, but I could either beat the pants off them with no problem, or I couldn't scratch them. That is just part of the template.
Why focus? It was a dueling template, and you can't have the wolf out during a duel. Halister's template is far more 'all around' than mine was, I'd go with his. (P.S., the wolf gives stamina regen. thats why i had focus, plus some more mana regen. my suit was all about resists and i didnt have 100-200mil to throw at uber resists + mana junk.)
If you can get the powerscrolls:
120 fencing
80 poisoning
110 necro
100 spirit speak
110 parrying
100 med
100 tactics
If you don't have a 4 year account though, you can bump the necro and parry down to GM (parry should be lowered first, if you have like 710 instead of 720. GM necro allows a small failure rate on some important spells; 110 is enough to get them all 100% besides Vampiric Embrace and the revenant... and the rev casts enough to be satisfactory.)
The other thing to keep in mind is that there are a few skills that, when combined, lower mana cost on weapon specials. Should be these skills:
Swords, fencing, macing, wrestling, archery, poisoning, stealth, parrying, ninjitsu, bushido (crap, i think Lumberjack is in here too, but i cant remember)
When you reach 200 points invested in ANY combination of the above, ALL your weapon specials lower in cost by 5. When you reach 300 points in any combo, they lower by another 5 (10 total). 100 alone won't do it, and 400+ doesn't do any more.
Why is this important? Your 120 fencing + 80 nox + 100-110 parry, of course. you'll gain the benefits of the full natural mana reduction, making your specials SO easy to use. Very good stuff.
If you can't afford 120 fencing, do 110, and raise nox to 90. Not only do you want to keep your fencing+nox+parry above 300 for the mana reduction, you want your nox to be at LEAST 80 so you don't fail poisoning weapons ever again. While some pros might point out that 80 poisoning is only an 80% chance to increase your deadly poison to lethal, it hits PLENTY enough to be useful.
That template was one of my favorite characters of all time in UO... Late OES days to NZD days. Big fun. I had vampiric embrace, protection, and one of reactive armor or magic reflect (i forget, whichever one balances the physical out to 0 when used with protect). Couldn't interrupt me, I'd get my strangle+bleed+lethal poison off, an armor ignore, a pain spike, and they were fairly screwed. Disarm and blood oath optional for even more nastiness, and whatever damage you take in the first few seconds is leeched back from a life leech weapon, vampiric embrace, and curse weapon if they need additional kryss spankings.
Good stuff, good stuff. |
