Andre dragged his feet, disgusted, on the stone path in the City of Umbra. He carried a basket tightly in his hands, his eyes peering around nervously. Every now and again he'd glance behind him, making sure he wasn't being followed. His direct orders were to take the package to the house of Audrina Thormear and leave it on the porch.

He finally found the house, Andre hurried to the door and knocked twice. He placed the basket down and backed away from the home. The sooner he was out of the wretched City the better.

"Heeelllllo?" He heard a familiar voice call out.

Andre backed up and waved towards the balcony to Atira.

"STWANGER! TAY, TAY THERE'S A STWANGER!" Atira ran in a circle and was about to run back into her room.

"Wait, wait! Atira! I'm not a stranger! I'm your father's friend, Moonglow Militia, remember?" Andre spat out.

"Oh!" Atira waved

Andre waved back. "Don't answer the door though. There is a package here for your mother, from your father. You can send your brother to get it, but wait until I'm gone. You never know who is watching from the shadows." Andre quickly backed away and disappeared into the night.

"He's weird..." Atira thought. She hurried down the stairs and across the living room. Quickly she grabbed the package and slammed the door, running back to the other side of the room. She was sure nothing got in. It wasn't past her bed time yet, and her mother was resting upstairs.

"Mommy, there's a package fow you. It's from Daddy." Atira pushed it towards Audrina.

The package contains:

Magically enhanced bandages
Water of purification and cleansing
A note
A knife

The note reads:

Dear Audrina,

I sent a package with my squire, I knows it's "Pathetic" I couldn't come myself. Moonglow has been under attack all night however and I wanted to get this to you. I sent some items to help mend your wounds and to help you rest. Didn't send any ale because I know you don't like to waste time obstructing your vision.

I will not get "mushy", I just wanted to apologize for giving you such a hard time last night. I know you were sore and angered, disappointed, upset with Tay. Your most likely going to crumple this up and hurl it into the fire place, but I just wanted to say sorry.

P.S. The knife is a gift for Atira. Tell her to be careful with it, make sure she doesn't stab someone. Tell her Daddy loves her.

Atira ran into the room with a big smile slapped on her face. ”Mommy! Mommy! Someone brought you a package!”

Audrina turned over to look at her daughter. ”Thank you, Tira. Come sit with Mommy and help me open it.” She smiled weakly at Atira and patted the bed. The little girl climbed up carefully and then hoisted the basket into her lap.

Atira pulled the tiny knife from the basket, looking it over, hopeful that Mommy would let her play with it. However, Audrina reached to read the note first. She read it over and almost immediately wanted to crumple the note out of spite, but instead she tucked it away. She allowed herself to smile as she looked toward Atira. ”Daddy said that he loves you and that the knife is for you. Be careful with it.”

The little girl occupied herself with the knife as Audrina reviewed the remaining contents in the basket. She thought about the smudged ink on the note and laughed. Typical Beowulf. Atira turned toward her mother and began laughing as well.
