Misericord, The Wolf Slayer lay in its display. Many mornings Myrddin had passed it in the War Temple a shining symbol of brotherhood. The temple was dark as Myrddin sat alone in his chambers, looking over some maps, his mind distracted by the long absence of his mate. His hand reached up to touch the markings on his arm and they continued to burn upon him. Yet their ink of binding looked faded. Perplexed, he felt that something was wrong. Shades scent had long since left him, the winds bringing no bearings of her whereabouts. Yet she was a diligent student, perhaps, she was deeply ensconced in some book within the bowels of Barls hidden abode. Yet he couldn’t shake it, he felt as if something was wrong.
*************************************************************
Mimus had flown with great speed towards Umbra his message bursting to be delivered, he was certain Myrddin would set all to right. The great wings of the bird flapped silently in the air as a shadow cast itself upon the bird. Turning his head he saw a great White Wyrm swoop down from above out of nowhere. This Wyrm was familiar to him but he couldn’t place it, and it was gaining speed. Dodging between trees, he tried to lose it, but it was to late as the dragon opened its great mouth an icy blue flame erupted finding its target. The bird fell frozen in a block of ice, in front of the war temple, Mimus would never have imagined himself as a target…
*************************************************************
Like a whisper really, a shadow crept silently thru the temple, passing thru walls, leaving doors and flooring untouched. No scent to be traced…. It came upon the display its prize found and a hand materialized in the darkness snatching up the artifact. Silence filled the house there was no noise the shadow and Misericord gone. Perhaps it was the extremity of the silence that brought Myrddin quickly to a state of awareness, pushing maps off his chest that he had fallen asleep reading. He rose and the house gave away nothing, no scent, no noise out of place. He was tired of wondering, and he began to pack his things, he would track her as he had done so many times before. That is when his weary sigh and a quick glance made known to him an empty spot. A display which held nothing, where it should hold everything. He stared a terrible feeling in his stomach growing, Misericord was gone, treachery was afoot. The lack of scent confirmed it, there was a Wolf in sheeps clothing…
He growled turning hastily, he knew exactly where to begin his search, as he rushed from the temple, his eyes set on Castle Blackrock he almost tripped over a hunk of ice. In frustration he shoved it out of his path. Having the d’Rue’s nearby was a bit irritating as he often found such frozen items about. Korin had an affection for freezing things.
So the clue remained a clue, unknown but waiting, waiting to be found. _________________ Something is Wrong, I can still feel Existence... |

Wisty watched silently as Mryddin strode into the temple his voice very upset, his weapon drawn. He was advancing on Toren and she screamed turning both mens attention to the hovering specter. Help! She cried! Please help me! Its gone its gone! All hope is lost…
Toren turned his back rushing to her side. What is gone Wisty what are you talking about! The spirit floated miserably staring at him. My body Toren! Its stolen! Find it! Myrddin gasped as Shade to was missing hence the reason for the fight between Toren and himself. Wisty shook her head I fear the worst, I fear Jonathan is behind this!
Immediately Myrddins eyes glowed, he latched onto what had been staring him in the face, of course! Grandfather Strathmore.. Toren and he rushed away splitting up to set out on their search for the bodies of the two sisters.
Alonwynn walked softly out of the shadows behind Wisty her eyes round and her dragon close at hand. Wisty stared watching them. Did you take care of the bird? Alonwynn nodded, then said in a worried voice. Wisty Myrddins a dangerous and powerful man, I am worried for you…
Wisty shook her head, I would risk anything for what I need to accomplish. She trembled a bit, her intentions were good she told herself. Hurry we have much work to do, and the women turned heading for the Wisp dungeon. _________________ Something is Wrong, I can still feel Existence... |

The Lich-Drow stood in a small cavern near the city of wind, his dull red eyes cutting through the darkness that blanketed the caves. He walked slowly, but an alarm rang out though his mind causing him to stop in his tracks completely. A faithful soul cried out, the sort that Barl couldn't afford to leave endangered. His hand flew to his wrist, the dried flesh of slender fingers closing around an enchanted bracelet. The Lich blinked out of existence, and in a few brief moments, re materialized in sacred corridors of a foreign power.
**************************************************************
Appearing near the back of the room, Barl made his way across the white tiled floor and up the isle toward the alter. There in front of a shrine to the wisps laid Nightshade on a table, and her attacker poised above her wielding unwelcome magics. Barl had only watch a few moments longer as he closed the distance between them to comprehend what was being done. Alonwyn was there, the druid he had freed from her necromantic prison. She tried to speak to him but was ignored as Barl focussed on the threat. Wisteria had found the seed of light that had long sense lain trapped with his apprentice, and was trying to aid it in its growth. Unacceptable.
Nex Servo!
His dry deep voice boomed out as the Lich-Drow drew the scepter at his belt and fired a bolt of his own dark energy into the unconscious Nightshade. Energies of a black and purple hue, much like Barl himself, crackled and covered the body of Shade. Slowly they began to expand like a shield, rising up from her body and carrying with it the light that Wisty was previously trying to empower within Shade. It crackled with the field of his own energy in protest, the two powers clashing violently and loudly as Barl's scepter was raised into the air once more. Wisteria screeched as her work was being undone, the Lich-Drow drawing the now combined energies toward him and condensing them into a small floating orb. As the energies swirled madly about each other, Barl shouted a last incantation over the growing sea of sounds and threw his scepter forward toward Wisteria.
Vos!
The orb of power flew forward into Wisteria hurtling her back, ripping the spirit that she was back to the corpse in which she belonged. Barl straightened triumphantly, awaiting her recovery. She knew not even half of the price she would pay for attacking a follower of the Lich-Drow De'Abreago. _________________ "You see I can not be forsaken, because I'm not the only one.
