Willow slammed the hilt of her blade deep into the gazers body, ripping it quickly asunder. They were in to much of a hurry to deal with such pests. Toren followed behind as he clutched Wisteria, as she labored in his arms. Her breathing was harsh and he noticed how much lighter she had grown in the past few months. She was fading fast, he knew it and so with grim determination he made his way to the Wisp Dungeon. Her face pale, her brow tensed with perspiration, he could see the pain eating away at his beloved as he laid her on the alter. Wisps hovered gently over her. She felt calmer here and she closed her eyes waiting for them to arrive. She knew that they would.
Dory and Alon arrived staring about the room, having never been in such a place, their eyes wide as they searched out Wisteria. Alonwynn paled seeing her friend in such pain, and Toren asked the woman to help with the birth of his children. Being druids, death and birth came naturally, and though Alonwynn had never birthed a child before she did well.
Wisty began to hear a familiar voice, and joy flowed thru her, she could feel Maelwyn’s presence as the spirit put a comforting arm around her, promising her peace. She was torn as she looked upon Toren's face, for he wanted her to stay with him but knew she could not. They all thought she was delusional as she spoke to Maelwyn. Tavish entered the hall and stood with his staff clutched in his hand, the power of Lord Oaks with him. He confirmed that Maelwyn was indeed with them, Wisty was not hallucinating. Sure enough Maelwyns ghost seemed to blink about the room, bringing words of comfort and strength, guiding Wisteria thru a very difficult time.
Two opposite entities met in this room. One bent on destruction and recreation, the other on protection and preservation. Married together in these two people. Forever entwined to struggle within their children. Varrius Smythe was born first, and Alonwynn handed him to his father who immediately began bestowing the blessings of Xorinia upon him. Not long after, Adara was born and Wisteria begged Alonwyn to hand her to Tavish, as she had planned long and hard what would befall this child.
Tavish placed the blessing of Lord Oaks upon her, as the wisps encircled Varrius and Toren, in those moments the entities passing on their lineage, the Druidess, and the future Xornite were born.
Holding her babes close and looking into Torens grief stricken eyes Wisty smiled as Maelwyn called her forth. She turned to Alonwynn, asking her to care for her animals. She turned to Dory, asking her to cleanse the sickness of death from Alonwynns eyes. She bade Tavish watch over her new daughter from afar and thanked him. The turning to the young cabal goblin she smiled. Kiss thy babes for me Hermy…
Looking back to Toren she smiled, I love you, and closed her eyes her strength gone, the circle of life completing itself. Her breath stilled, and a great wind rose up in the hall rushing past them all and encircling the babes, and settling within Alonwynn. A shadowy voice spoke, I bestow upon you the Element of Air, Alonwynn. I am ready Maelwyn I shall go where you follow.
Toren picked his children up, off their dead mother, holding them close, his grief great at what he had lost in order to gain. _________________ Something is Wrong, I can still feel Existence... |

Alonwynn sat on the docks in moonglow scanning the seas. The wind played with the oceans surface. She heard footfalls behind her. Turning ever so slightly she saw Dory, looking just as distraught as Alon felt.
Before she even spoke a word Alonwynn said,
"I keep expecting her to come sailing up. I expect to see her boat and to have everything be normal. I miss her so much already" If Alonwynn had been able to cry anymore, there would have been tears in her eyes.
Dory replied, " I know, me too."
"Did you hear what she told me, just after.....after she gave birth?"
"No" Dory said looking at Alonwynn strangely.
"She named me air elemental, She also told me to turn my gaze away from death and look upon the light once more"
" Well good, you should be the replacement" Doireann said.
"Does the water still pull you Dory?" Alonwynn asked. Dory sat down next to the woman and placed her hand above the water causing it to swirl.
"A little yes" She smiled and dropped her hand and the swirling ceased.
The two sat on the docks and talked for what seemed to be hours.
" Well, Alonwynn I have to get back, there are more things I need to break you want to come help?" Alonwynn just nodded and said, "I dont want to go back just yet" Dory walked over and hugged her. "I love you Alon, you know that right?" She nodded and replied, " and I love you too sister."
Dory let her go and walked back into the town. Alon looked back out to the sea, Waiting for Wisteria's ship to arrive. |

It weighed on him, a weight he'd never in his life felt, and a strain even the most difficult combat couldn't touch. He was a single father.
The loss of Wisteria hit him hard, it devestated even, and he could not grapple with why. She had her peace, she was where she belonged. The Xornite had welcomed her into It's loving embace and granted her the finality he so desperately yearned. She would be happy there above all else. Yet he contemplated taking this from her.
But each time he looked at the children, esspecialy his little girl, he saw her in them, and he knew they were missing her, even if they hadn't realized it. Varrius refused to sleep, and all Adara did was sleep. When she awoke, she cried for hours on end, before finally submitting to food and sleeping again. They were lost without her... and Toren, though he would never admit it, needed help, and he needed her.
It came all as a great surprise, perhaps too great and too abruptly when it happened. Finally he entered their room, the room they had shared in life, the room in which she lingered in memory of death. At his desk his heart panged. Turning towards the bed he was ill prepared for what he saw, and nearly fell, Varrius in his arms.
She stood before him, flesh, blood and bone; more fridgid to the touch than his heart.
"Hello Toren" Her voice was a whisper and it sent shivers down his spine. Every Cabalist called attention to his lessened sanity and in this instant he began to believe them. It wasn't possible she was standing before him, he saw no way, until she reached out her hand and touched his cheek.
His voice shook as he spoke "W...Wisty..." questioning her being and his eyes. But she was there. The proof lied in Varrius as he put his arms out to his mother. She took him in her's.
"Toren, you look horrible, come lie down." So much concern in her voice, so much love, she cared so much and he was the one to kill her. It was entirely his fault. A tear streaked silently down his cheek as she forced him toward the bed, one he could barely bare to near, which she now urged him to lay in.
She laid next to him, Varrius on his chest, slowly becoming etheral, both of them together, fading from reality, but lingering so fervidly in memory. Toren stared at them transfixed.
"He will sleep like this..." It was as if she had been watching the entire time, looking over him, she knew all. She slowly faded to sleep with the child in her arms.
Toren stared at them for a long time as fatigue slowly took him in its grip. A dream took shape behind his eyes.
----------------------
The wisp fluttered weightlessly thoughout the hall, Varrius followed closely behind, though Adara could not seem to keep up. It rounded the corners of what seemed to be a maze stretching infinitely in all directions. Toren watched with interest, a faint murmor of a voice speaking from everywhere but coming from nowhere, spoke their names.
Adara had dissapeared from sight as Varrius neared his father, the wisp now following him, nearing the center of the maze. The whisper took a familiar tone, and her voice spoke softly for a long while, for what seemed hours, then nearing him he heard the only sentence he recognized. In wispish he heard the words "I'm comming."
----------------------
He awoke to the sound of two children crying, the mother had dissapeared, and pulled on both of their hearts in passing. _________________
