Your character realizes that he is stuck in a computer simulated environment. When he gets to a phone he can in essence 'log out' and just disappears.

Imagine the possibilities:

"Operator, I need to learn kung-fu" (Soulstones ninjitsu over)
"Whoa"

"So you mean I can dodge bullets?"
