I'm contemplating playing UO again, very casually. I just don't have the time, nor desire, to put tons of time into any game ever again, so.. UO seemed good as I remember being able to do things relatively useful but quickly, if needed.

I have some questions, though!

Does anyone know if the Kingdom Reborn thingy would update my account to be compatible with all of the stuff I missed? I'm not going to be paying for every single expansion that I missed that I will need in order to do everything, as that seems kind of against the point I'm trying to go for.

And this is just a random idea I had, but I'd really like to make some kind of character with Spellweaving -and- Ninjitsu, together. I don't know if this is useful or not, but I want to do it anyways for my own amusement. Could anyone give me ideas on what skills I will need/will be useful? I'd probably prefer a more weapons based character, as the main appeal of Spellweaving looked to be the non usage of reagents(to me, anyways). I'd like to stealth, too. The basic idea was to recreate what I liked in my druids in WoW. Spellweaving, Stealthing, Hiding, and Ninjitsu seemed like good starts.

YES!!!

I might try to start up the whole mail system thing I was doing before, also. I figured I'd add that in here. The house is all grandfathered, so it'll never collapse(last I checked it was still there after like 2 years, anyways). Whenever I decide on coming back, I'll see about interest in that one.

Kingdom Reborn = free expansion... as for it upgrading all old content, no idea

upgrade of the old content as far as graphics go, a few interface changes and that's about the extent of it. Its bringing the game "up to date" without having to go full blown 3d like most of the other MMO's on the market.

As for the rest of the expansions... No, Kingdom reborn will be more of a patch than anything from what I've read. Buying the 9th anniversary edition cost me hmmm 19.99 I think. If you're seriously thinking about coming back, I could probably float the 20$ for you. (Though honestly I have no clue who you are)

Eh, no I'm ok with paying for -1- expansion, to upgrade and allow me to use all the new stuff.

I more meant like.. Do I have to pay for Mondain's Legacy, then the 9th thingy, then soon to be Kingdom Reborn, then after that relatively shortly Stygian Abyss..

Just trying to figure out if buying Kingdom Reborn would allow me to do all of the new stuff, also(Elf things, taming Cu Sidhe, going to new zones or whatever, using Spellweaving). I'd actually rather wait for Kingdom Reborn anyways, because I like the hotbar thing they are adding and the graphics didn't look awful.

No idea how UO is now, heh. I remember the days of being able to play, but not being able to do like half the things if your account wasn't upgraded, and like 2+ expansions coming out a year.. or stupid things like that.

Kingdom Reborn is going to be a free download.

I'd suggest buying the 9th anniversary kit, as you're not gonna have to pay for reborn. It's not new content, just a complete user interface revampt and graphics upgrade.

I can't be CERTAIN about their current upgrade methods.

But I know I didn't buy any expansions between UO:The Death of UO...er..."Renaissance" and the Samurai Empire expansion, but I got access to all the lands and features that the expansions between those two had. So, any new copies you get should at least go up to Samurai Empire and will almost certainly involve Mondain's Legacy. So you should be okay.

Edit: I doubt you'll get access to any of the pre-order/early settler sort of items that people got in previous expansions, but you should still have access to all content.

Yeah, sir, 9th ann has it all. Samurais, elves, etc. You could always just allow the KR upgrade to happen and wait until Stygian Abyss comes, to purchase an upgrade. there's gonna be gargies in that one Razz

80 Stealth
100 Resist
100 Spellweaving
100 Ninjitsu
100 Fencing
100 Tactics
40 Meditation

I forget how many stat points people get, though >.< Is it 225? I figured I'd worry about that one later.

Decent template. Could work. Only problem is that Ninjitsu is virtually useless until 120.

Most people have 230 base now, we got another +5 for the anniv, or christmas, or ... something. So if your acct is old you might have that. Don't know if it counts if it was active.

225 is the standard base, though.

I think everyone's new characters/old accounts will get that +5 as a default now. Oh, and welcome back elf. Smile
