Title: Honesty to Honor

Author: a royal scribe

In the first years, in the times of divided Kings and the fractured lands and bloody fields of Sosaria rose many great warriors, Lord, Kings and mythological figures. Knights in those archaic and by gone days, just as now championed the ideals of Honor. And although they predated the system of Virtues of our great King, the ideal was much unchanged as it is now.

Among the Kingdom in the area that is now known as Britain arrived an entirely different sort of Knight, he championed not Honor but Honesty. In paradox to his championed ideal, he long refused to betray his name, yet upon his shield he bore the pennant of a white and golden gilded swan. So he was called the Knight of the Swan, for lack of any other name.

He advised Kings and Queens, Lords and Ladies, spoke of ideas and advancements never before uttered or even imagined. This Knight of the Swan, brought forth a myriad of advancements in both warfare, magic and in the subtle workings of our land. It was as if Sosaria herself had born this being with her own knowledge to teach the people her ways.

The Knight of Swans seemed not to age, yet fathered many children. They were called children of the Well of Riches, Children of the Well of Knowledge, Children of the Golden Well and eventually simply Welles, Wells, Wellings, Wellington, Wellton and Welling.

An ancient plot of land held the ancestral home of these great descendants existed in the center of what is now called Britain, a gift of the old King to the Knight of Swans. An ancient castle there laid ruin, and eventually converted into what is now known as the Chamber of Virtue, still under watch and care of the same ancient family.

The Chamber of Virtue, the place where Honesty and Honor are side by side, the place where Justice and Compassion nearly embrace, and where Sacrifice and Humility are bound in Love.

As the threads of this ancient family fray, as their charge and their task in this world crumbles. We all wonder who will pick up the ancient birthright of the Chamber of Virtue and what treasures, knowledge, or histories will be lost should it fall into ruin once more?
