Title: Attrocities of the CoM

Author: Horace the Scribe

-this is a deeply dense, frequently depressing account of the actions of the Council of Mages during the Faction Wars. You thumb through the tome and take particular notice of a story involving a massacre of innocents in Minoc- ->

--The account of Squire Margaret, 6th regiment of the True Britannian Army. 2nd winter of the Faction Conflict, in the month of March.

"We rode into Minoc around mid-day, but the smell of burnt flesh greeted us far before we got anywhere close to the city. It seems the retreating Council of Mages forces set Minoc's buildings aflame from the camps to the South all the way past Mt. Kendall.

Under orders of my commanding officer we swept the city for survivors but none were found. The CoM corralled the townsfolk into a wood building west of the marble statues and torched the premises.

Rough estimates show at least 120 civilian causalities. True Britannian healers were on hand to try the Resurrection Spell but no ghosts were returned. All the civilian causalities have passed through the Well of Souls." --On my honor this account is true. Signed, Squire Margaret, True Britannian.

The book continues on in much the same way.
