Title: 3/24/24 Minutes

Author: Rizan

9:16: In the absence of His Majesty, a meeting of the council of Governors begins. Governor Tatiana Thorn of Skara Brae presides over the meeting in his stead.

9:16: Lord Cogniac speaks for Serpent's Hold. The plan to release arrows from the SARS (Strategic Arrow Reserve of Sosaria) stock to drop the prices of arrows to 60 gp apiece has been accomplished. Since the last meeting, this has been done twice, keeping the prices across the land consistently reduced. Crossbow bolts remain steady at around 40 gp. In addition, the Sea Markets have also been targeted for price reduction, as well as the stock of one Miss Nyx, in the depths of Dungeon Doom. Lord Cogniac asks that if any arrow vendors elude his team, that he be kept apprised. As another order of business, The Order maintains lists of locations that are important to the realm, including the venerable Goodman's Rune Library. Lord Cogniac announces that this past Sunday, Goodman's received its 800,000th visitor, a milestone worthy of celebration. Lord Cogniac also recognizes the efforts of Governor Tatiana Thorn in keeping the repair bench at Goodman's stocked with repair deeds, and all in attendance echo his cheer. On a final note, Lord Cogniac mentions that scouts bring word of ill tidings from the seas, that rumors exist of unrest in the waters of the realm. He suspects that this may allow the SARS releases to pay dividends, and The Order urges vigilance in light of these rumors. The Order hereby issues an official Travel Advisory for the oceans. Lord Cogniac concludes his report.

9:26: Governor Merlin speaks for New Magincia. The state of Magincia is stagnant. The cold winds of the season still seem to be slowing trade, and Scalis continues his ongoing attacks on the docks. Governor Merlin mentions that progress is being made on the construction of the Governor's manor, as well as the jail and pet hospital, and efforts will be made to reach out to the taming experts of the realm for advice on which beasts to focus on and which to include services for. This will hopefully be a draw for those who seek to purchase from the numerous pet stalls in New Magincia. The idea will be fleshed out in future meetings, and the Governor might seek additional time and input to get it done to his satisfaction. Governor Merlin also mentions that Governor Rain (absent at the current meeting) is understandably not present, as she is occupied with getting married and sends her regards to her fellow Governors. Governors Rain and Merlin continue to combat the scorpion threat in Trinsic, and some swashbucklers from the port of New Magincia were dispatched to help guard the Trinsic port. Governor Merlin expects that trades will improve with the warmer seasons, and with the threat of ocean-bound scourges, boats are expected to be launched from New Magincia as a staging ground to combat any menace. Governor Merlin concludes his report. 9:34: Happy Daze reports for Minoc. He recaps quickly that musicians have been mating with dragons, moongoats have invaded, and a psychopathic Leprechaun has caused trouble for that fair city in the past month, but the citizens are in high spirits. The mining teams have been working on expanding their operations in Mount Kendall, to boost resources for any impending threats as well as providing work for the citizens. Blackrock stores are up and climbing. The Governor concludes his report by thanking the council for the opportunity to serve Minoc, and expresses his ongoing desire to help in anyway he can to improve on what has already been built.

9:41: Governor Hagrid speaks for Britain. He apologizes for being late to the meeting, as he is still adjusting to the recent time change. The city is busy with the Spring planting season, and trade is starting to rise both by sea and land as travel conditions improve around the capital city. The Governor mentions that he is looking at burning the Governor's house down so as to build a new one, then asks that the note mentioned be disregarded, as it was meant to be kept private. The crowd laughs at the Governor's presumed joke. The Royal Insurance Adjustors will know for sure, should anything happen! The Governor finishes his update on Britain.

9:46: Governor Tatiana Thorn speaks for Skara Brae. Business continues as usual, with the city's coffers remaining full and trades brisk. The Governor reminds the council that she continues to hold weekly tavern nights at New Haven on Mondays at 9pm Eastern, and in Britain by the west bank at 9pm Eastern on Wednesdays. The Governor concludes her report.

9:48: Governor Shadowyke reports in for Vesper, and starts by thanking everyone for attending. Vesper is beginning to thaw, and the bridges and roads are becoming more conducive to travel and trade. Honey production will begin for the season soon, and the Governor proposes to discuss with Governor Happy the possibility of shipping part of the honey supply to Minoc for the distilleries. On a darker note, shipping logs relating to Ziggy have been discovered, and the inventory of Vesper's supplies aren't adding up correctly. Governor Shadowyke believes that Ziggy may once again be active along the eastern coast of Britannia. Lord Cogniac speculates that perhaps the rumors of sea-based threats might concern Ziggy, though Governor Happy thinks the rumors are too large to be caused by one outlaw. Governor Shadowyke asks that Britain, Minoc, Trinsic, and the other sea-bound cities increase their guard, given the severity of the threat. Lord Cogniac speculates that perhaps Ziggy is merely taking advantage of the rumors of threats to increase the spread of his chaos.

9:52: Governor Kelly Kapowski speaks for Yew. Yew has been busier than ever, the trees grow like wildfire, and the Elves have been working on increasing arrow production. Both facets seem to be abuzz with activity. All is well in Yew at present, and the Governor expresses her hope that the wellbeing continue into the summer. The Governor concludes her report.

9:56: Governor Tatiana Thorn opens the floor to comments or concerns from the crowd. Little Sister, a concerned citizen, steps forward to address the council. She says that recently at one of Governor Thorn's community events in New Haven, a "shady character" was taking apples from a young person. Little Sister's elder sister, Dripping Blood, caught Little Sister's eye and screamed out that it was Ziggy, and people seated at the table rose up to give chase. He ran off, but by the time he was reached he had boarded a vessel sailing toward New Magincia. Dripping Blood drew her bow and fired an arrow at Ziggy, striking him in the arm, but he continued his retreat. Little Sister says she is concerned that New Magincia may be threatened, and Ziggy was heard to yell out, "You have not seen the last of me!" Little Sister finishes her tale. Governor Happy speaks up, suggesting the use of tinker's automatons for standing guard, mentioning that they have been put to effective use in Minoc for guarding the storehouses tirelessly. Little Sister then asks if anyone has a recipe for hamcake. No one in the crowd possesses such a terrible secret, and with no other citizens stepping forward, the meeting is adjourned by Governor Thorn.
