Deposition of Korba
I, Korba, am a citizen of Papua and do avow the following:
1. I live in Papua and have been employed by the magic and alchemy shops for ten years. I have never been convicted of a crime in my life.
2. At the Inn, late last year, I overheard a conversation by a man I knew to be called Eric the beggar and another man sitting at a table outside the Inn. I was standing by a front porch window that was open, finishing a drink, and heard them talking. I took only one quick peek to see who Eric was talking to. The following is what
I overheard:
- the man asked Eric to do a job for him and Eric agreed.
- the man gave Eric a bag containing something heavy and Eric took it.
- once, Eric called the man, "Prince" sort of in a mocking way. The man took offense and chided him for it.
- they both agreed to meet again but I did not catch where or when.
- the man spoke with a strange accent which I have since deemed "elvish" in character.
- when asked by Eric why he wore the hood which completely covered his face (it was a ninja hood), he said it was because he had a skin problem; direct sunlight made it worse.
3. At the time I did not think too much of what happened, but after Eric confessed to the crime, I reported what I had heard to the authorities and it was used in court to prosecute Eric.
Signed, Korba
