Clergy of Oblivion and the Anti Virtues

by Annatar

Clergy of Oblivion

Oblivion has commanded that there should be a communion of his servants. That his children should join together in holy vision.

Those whose destiny it is to bring that to pass belong to the Clergy of Oblivion.

We are the bond that brings the sects together. We are the shadow in the darkness. Our methods are our own. Our purposes solely of Oblivion.

The hand of Oblivion acts in many unknown ways, most of which, ye are not worthy to know of. Few, indeed only very few can ever come to know the essence of Oblivion. For them there is the clergy. In the land of Britannia we have dedicated ourselves to promoting those values that are the antithesis of those promoted by our puppet king.

Members of the clergy tirelessly endeavor to bring about the time when one and all recognize the depravation of false truths presented as virtues.

There are no particular requirements save one of complete dedication to the purposes of our God and the guild.

Oblivion is the end and Oblivion is the beginning.

The Anti-Virtues

Covetous

Let us first say something about Sacrifice. Surely it is obvious to you why a ruler such as Lord British is so keen on the virtue of Sacrifice. Indeed, perhaps you should sacrifice more for your pathetic monarch. If you do you are weak. Sacrifice is nothing but an ignoble faade. We despise all that is weak. We hate it. As such, the very notion of Sacrifice such as put forward by our impotent king is egrerious to us.

"Follow Oblivion and be rewarded in un-fathomable ways"... how can the decision be difficult to make ... unless, of course, if you are weak.

Deceit

The purpose of Oblivion is known only to those privileged to follow him. All others can wallow in ignorance and in the blissful deception we will leave them in.

Despise

The undead have no compassion for those who, in their weakness, shunned the greatest gift they could have. We despise all life, holding it in utter contempt.

Pride

What principle is fundamental to all sentient beings-- Pride is! Only a corrupt ruler like Lord British would attempt to dissuade peoples under his control from taking Pride in what they do.

Shame

We do not concern ourselves with the perceptions living beings hold for us. The concept of shame is merely a tool we enjoy using to destroy living.
