Scholomance Code of Rules (Second draft)

1 - General Rules of Conduct

1A- The Scholomance is an Institute of Knowledge and Education. Fighting within under any circunstance (Faction, guild, murdering, personal battles, sparring without permission) is not tolerated. If the breaker of this rule is not affiliated to the School, the penalty is banishment from the building. If the breaker of this rule is affiliated to the School, a warning will be issued. A second failure to meet the demands will result in expelling from the Academy as well as banishment from the building.

1B- Within the Scholomance the use of foul language, harassment and improper topics (OOC) are forbidden. Failure to meet these demands will result a warning, an ejection from the building, and finally banishment and expelling on a third occasion.

1C-The Scholomance is an Institute of Dark Arts dedicated to proper social manners in Sosaria (aka roleplaying ). Thereby, practioners of the Light Arts, protectors of the Virtues and Enemies of Caina will be dealt with properly by Cainan Law. We reserve the rights to act properly (in character) if any member, associated or not to the School shows affiliation or sympathy to these factions.

1D-In an academic environment, certain rules of etiquette will be required within our Halls. No horses or pets are allowed in the class romes during classes. Animals may be placed in the monster room during classes, but it'd advisable to keep the animals in town stables for safety measures. Silence is also required when classes are ongoing, in the library or in the audience room. Keeping conversions in the normal routine quiet, and avoiding crowds confusion is advisable. Caina has a tavern for public entertainment. Summoning creatures and practising magic is forbidden out of the class controlled environment.

1E- Stealing or snooping outside a class controlled environment results in immediate expulsion and banishment from the building.

2 - Staff

2A- Within the Scholomance, the Staff are requested to use the uniform which will indentify them as such. Colored robes of the right hue are mandatory for easy recognition.

2B- The Staff of the Scholomance must always treat the Students and Visitors well, if they are properly respecting the Laws here described. In the personal handbooks given upon application, the Staff is orientated to greet, thank and offer aid to students whenever possible.

2C- Staff fights will not be tolerated. Everyone in the Scholomance is hired through a selective process and are believed to be civilized people that will serve as example and models to the students. Staff fights will result in the immediate replacement of the involved members.

2D- In the Classes, Events, Conferences and Audiences of the Scholomance, only one person has the floor to speak initially. The others will remain silent until orientated otherwise. This rule is essencial to garantee the flow of the occasion and proper communication. The Staff of the Scholomance is expected to follow this rule strictly, so that the general public is taught correctly. Teachers interrupting each other is something unacceptable.

2E-While the Scholomance has a hierarchy, all members will treat each other with respect. Authority is accepted. Ignorance and lack of manners is not. Remember this hierarchy is not a sign of superiority. It is only a functionality structure.

2F-The Staff is expected to be present at all duties they have agreed to take upon, in the application time or through an exceptional invitation. Failure to meet these demands will only be accepted through one of the following excuses, given preferably with antecedence and forcefully within 7 days after the absence: (Emergency and personal Real Life Issues, Health Issues, Business Issues. ) If it is verifiable that the absent member is neglecting their duties and was somehow available at the time of the appointment, a replacement order will be issued.

2G- If a Staff member is absent more than five times in the period of 3 months, even with the valid excuses mentioned above, a replacement will be sought out. We are of belief that applying to become a Staff member requires not only talent and dedication, but avaiblity of time to fullfill the duties. An idle staff will not contribute to anything in our growth process.

2H- Any Staff member who performs any illegal act or any internal problem, reports on suspicious activity on the behalf of any of the Staff members or Student body should be addressed to the Head Dean for Investigation. Addressing the suspect member personally is forbidden. Personal Investigation is not encouraged.

2I- Staff members are not allowed to speak on the behalf of the Scholomance. Only the Head Dean may post or address public announcements for the Academy, unless specific orders are issued. Staff members are encourage though to announce their classes by any and all means possible.
