This book appears to be the log of a ship called 'The Empire.' The last entry speaks of the burying of a great treasure, and of the growing discontentment of the crew.
There's a hastily scrawled note at the end, in different handwriting, that says 'Captain Hawkins won't be makin' no more log entries.'
