Darrien Church 2
From Atlantic Roleplay Wiki
Title: Darrien Church
Author: Norture
Before serving the Order, Darrien Church was a professor at the Moonglow Lycaeum. He was one of the most corrupt professors. If a student's parents didn't bribe him for their student's success, or there was little family presence in the student's life, he would beat or punish the students as he pleased. Many students began paying him for good grades. Nobody at the Lycaeum did anything about his behavior, which seems to be influencing his behavior now for he acts however he wishes, not feeling there is any consequence. Darrien, during his mortal time within the Order, showed erratic and unacceptable behavior which was left unpunished. This behavior includes violent outbursts, abuse of slaves, insane ramblings, trying to force higher ranking members to do things for him, and abusing and blackmailing equal or lower ranking members to do his will.
He has also done various acts that could be considered treason, his fascination with infernalism at times seemed to be more important than his supposed dedication to Oblivion. At Black Mass he once preached infernalism, telling those in attendance to sell their souls for power. The flaw with this, and what makes it suspect, is our souls all already belong to Oblivion. Would selling our souls then be stealing from Oblivion?
After being granted undeath, his behavior seemed to become stable for a short time. However, since then he has become violent and erratic once more. He needs to be watched, he acts as though he is a Lich Lord at times. He claims Oblivion communicates with him, he has gotten away with striking an overseer who approached him about his erratic behavior, and he gives unreasonable demands to lesser ranking members. For example, he has singled Drayek out and has accused her of being arrogant, stating it because of her lack of sacrifices to Oblivion.
This seems rather suspicious, he does not make a large fuss about people who do not come to Black Mass all together. An example of his tendencies to blackmail would be him trying to give me access to his library for supposedly nothing. After declining and asking what he was really up to, he began to threaten me for being treasonous in front of Azreal, taking advantage of Azreal's way of making everything into a very large issue. As well, he beats and harms slaves quite frequently, even thoguh anyone under the rank of Overseer is not supposed to. Another thing worth noting is he himself is late, or not there at all, for Black Mass. For a long while he had completely disappred, although now he has returned. This is clearly shunning his duties to the Order. He is currently seeking a way to gain his flesh and good looks, he claims it is because he needs it for his new position as Overseer of the Way of Corruption.
Possible heresy, defiling the form Oblivion granted him. A notable thing about him, if he feels he is right in what he is doing, he will betray his superiors. He turned against Aragothias, and when confronted Aragothias tried tricking him into believing the Way of Shadows held the power to arrest or deal with Ancients. As well, he is very susceptable to bribery. These two weaknesses make him rather manipulatable. It has been brought to my attention a large group of members turned against Seryas after Aragothias' trial. After the case was dismissed by Lord Admoreth himself, Darrien went about demanding other members of lesser rank be on his side. he had a spell cast and was ready to throw it at any moment as a threat. He was going to attack Drayek for not wanting to side with Seryas nor Darrien, since she had no idea what was happening. She was prepared to escape should he strike, fortunately he stormed off and let her be.

Darrien withheld information from the Way of Shadows, hiding a number of books from us. When trying to get answers, and the books, from him he kept changing the topic. Eventually, he began tos peak about how untrustworthy vampires are, refering to Seryas as one in front of a few mortals. Darrien claims all the traitors of the Order are vampires and gave a few names. -Something to keep in mind: One traitor: Was mortal, Raza. However, every single traitor was of the Way of Corruption.
Darrien`s behavior is once again eccentric. If he starts a crusade against the kindred and claims we are traitors, serious problems shall arise. Seryas, myself, and Ivy attempted to take books from him by force, but by that time he had hid any important ones.

Darrien is now refering to himself as `The Temple`. He is preaching about how `The use of the powers the Skull has gifted to you to secure power over your bretheren is a sin most foul and calls for the wrath of the temple.` However, the previous day he used his power and influence to start more of his political games against another member, Drayek. He told her practicing technomancy is perfectly acceptable and encouraged her to teach other members, however a week later overstepped his bounds and brought Bailos to inquisit her. he had also written a number of rules, although most of them sound as though he is trying to guarantee himself power and protection. Some of these rules he seems to have written specifically to target specific members, one of them being Drayek. he has singled out Drayek in the past for a number of things, including being a vampire. Now, he is overstepping his bounds and is claiming all information must be reviewed by the Way of Corruption, when it is the Way of Shadows which handles information. These rules of his almost seem like he is attempting to gain absolute power within the Order. He is well known for his use of blackmail to get his way.
One of his rules is members of the Order must come speak to the clergy to confess their crimes against Oblivion. Without any higher ranking member to monitor him, Darrien`s behavior has become even more power-hungry than ever. He is also insisting the Clergy needs to be involved in the ruling of Umbra. Although it is one of Corruption`s duties to deal with such things, he is guaranteeing himself even more power.
Note- Darrien is claiming the words of the Ebon council are final. Pin him for this when he defies arrest from Bailos.
