Vaen was anxious to read the reply to the letter he wrote to Brianha so long ago. He wondered how she would react. Would she be happy that she heard from him? Angry at him? He needed to know...
He quickly grabbed the letter that laid on the table in his house and opened it. It was short... he was confused. He read over it, his heart sank. Sighing softly, he placed the letter down on the table with a light nod. He knew he had done this to himself. He has no more home to go back to. No Brianha... No ... nothing. Unless...
Vaen quickly ran up to his study and grabbed for a piece of paper and a pen, and began to write a few letters.
===
Mave,
It has been some time since we have spoken. I would like to get you and the rest of the old crew back together. Let me know if you are available.
Vaen
Mallory,
Friend... it has been a while since we have seen one another. I am trying to get people together... the old crew. Let me know if you are up for this.
Vaen
Leshok,
I do not even know if you will get this. But I am trying to get a good group of us together again... even if only for a short time. Let me know if you are available.
Vaen
Roc,
Greetings, friend. I am searching for old members of the Legion and came across your name. I want to get everyone together. Let me know if you are available.
Vaen
Drayden,
I hope things are well for you friend. I wish to get the old group back together. Let me know if you are available for this.
Vaen
Alessandra,
Aless! It has been too long. I do wish to see you soon, as well as everyone else that used to be within our legion. Reply and let me know if you wish this as well
Vaen
====
Vaen nodded. Perhaps with all of his friends, he could feel at home once again. After all, it was his last hope. If this didn't work... ... He shook his head and sighed. He gave the letters to a messenger with some coin, and then sat back, waiting for a response. _________________

Slowly walking through the door of his keep, Mave unbuckled his sword and axe and laid them down as he sat in the chair at his desk.
"Though I hunt them everyday... the wraiths never seem to dwindle..." he mumbled wearily to himself.
As he sat there resting, collecting his thoughts and thinking on options to free Dark Cove, one of his servants ran up to him holding a letter.
"It is from Lord Swiftar M'lord" he said as he laid the letter on the desk and bowed slightly. "I did not put it in with the other messages as I know you have been trying to keep track of his whereabouts."
"Thank you, you did well", Mave said as he reached down and quickly opened the letter.
As he read over the contents, Mave mumbled a little to himself..."Hmm, perhaps the dark days I have heard rumors of concerning my old friend are at an end... or perhaps darker days are just beginning..."
Slightly raising his voice as he finished reading, "...either way, my blade and I will be at his side."
Reaching across the desk, Mave pulls out a piece of parchment and quill and begins to pen a response...
*the letter is sealed in wax with the stamp of House Gerhart*
As he finishes sealing the letter, Mave hands it to the servant.
"Make sure Vaen gets this quickly. Take Belegohtar, he will get you there quicker than the horses."
With a nod and slight bow, the servant runs up the stairs to the roof to find Mave's trusted dragon.
As he leaves, Mave gets up and moves over to sit infront of the fireplace. Sipping on some wine he stares into the fire, pondering what lies in the days and months ahead... _________________ Honor is the sword I wield...

Mallory returned home from training with the Order of Sanctus, her heart heavy from things she had seen. She noticed the messenger waiting for her and he handed her a letter. She recognized the writing and her heart fluttered a bit. She had heard rumors of Vaen becoming evil, things he had done to Brianha... She had not seen him herself, but everything she knew told her that there was more. She had been in love with this man and she knew there would be reason for the things he had done. Long after he had left, along with most of the others within the Legion, she had joined the Order of Sanctus. She had even been quickly promoted as an emissary to the House Gauntlet and Royal Court. Here was Vaen asking her to rejoin the Legion. They had taken her in when she had no where else to go, and she had only left when she felt they had all left the realm. Well, Lord Zarlox would now need to take his anger and ridiculous requests somewhere else.
She sat at the table and pulled a clean sheet of parchment and began writing.
Dear Vaen,
It has been quite sometime since I have heard from you. I had heard... well it does not matter what I had heard. I am glad to once again hear from you, my friend. Please advise of a time and location and I will gladly be there. Until we meet again may the virtues guide and protect you.
In Virtue and Friendship,
Mallory Rowdep
She sealed the note and sent it with the messenger to Vaen. She would deal with Lord Zarlox at another time when her fatigue and temper would not fail her. _________________ Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them but you always know they are there...

Leshok walked back into his new home in Yew, LaBelle had done a grand job with the place and they both truely felt at home in the building. He put up his armor and looked at the normaly blank parchment unrolled on a desk. This magical paper he had been told would display any letter being written to him from anywhere. He thought the merchant was lying, but the price wasn't that much, and well it interested him.
He looked down shocked to see it was from Vaen, odds are some messenger was wandering around his old land searching for him. Leshok chuckled as he read the paper, Vaen's tone seemed odd, almost lost, there was no emotion in his writing. With a raised eyebrow Leshok grabbed a pen and spoke the incantation the merchant told him would allow him to respond to any letter.
The letters faded and the parchment was clear and Leshok wrote, not quite sure how the message would reach Vaen, but he figured it would work somehow.
Quote: | Dear Vaen,
Hail old friend, I am beyond the reach of helping you myself in this endeavor of yours, Lady LaBelle and I have left the realm to find happiness with ourselves away from any duty that would restrict us. It is good to hear from you old friend, perhaps you could try my old messenger Rakson? He seemed to admire you, being a young lad from Minoc. Or what about the lad you told me about once, Noren? Noreth? Norrec? you said he led some sort of citizens revolution, maybe he might recognize with your cause.
I wish you the best my friend, give my greetings and love to Mallory and Brianha and all the others.

After reading Leshok's letter, he smiled. Good to know his old friend was all right. And then he wrote another
Norrec,
I wish to meet with you... Surely you remember me. Let me know when you are available

The messenger had quite a bit of trouble finding Roc, who had retreated to the forests. With the still-somewhat-recent finding of the elven homeland, Heartwood, many elf hunters and elf haters had appeared as well. Thankfully, they were on the lookout for brightly colored mutants claiming to be elves, and not looking so closely for pointed ears.
Roc smiled in memory of old times, after reading the short letter. He sent the very same messenger back, as his letter was short enough to write quickly:
Suilad mellon,
I am available, Vaen. It is good to hear from you. Keep me informed.

Alessandra looked around at her handiwork and was pleased with the progress of the decorating. She loved the holidays, although it often brought a sense of lonliness to her heart. She missed her family, her mother and father, her friends. She sighed softly as her memories took her back to a time in a great hall filled with friends and family and a man... She shook her head from the memory as a sudden knock came at the door. She was surprised to see a Legion messenger waiting on her steps. She took the letter from him and invited him in to sit in front of the fire and enjoy a bowl of stew from the kitchen. Once he was comfortable she retired to her study and read the letter. Vaen had returned? She shook her head in slight disbelief. She had not heard from him, or others of the Legion, for quite some time. She pulled a piece of parchment from a box nearby and penned her response...
Vaen,
I hope that this letter finds you well and in good spirits. I have not heard from you in quite some time. Please let me know where and when you would like to meet and I shall be there. There are things that have been said, but I shall like to hear from you. Until then, may you be protected by the virtues.
Alessandra
She pulled out another piece of parchment and with a slightly heavy heart she penned a letter to Drayden...
Drayden,
I am sure by this time you have recieved your own letter from Vaen. I wanted to let you know I have agreed to meet with him, if for no other reason because I wish to hear from his own mouth the reason for the things he has been accused of. I believe that we too need to speak, perhaps before the meeting with Vaen.
In Justice,
Alessandra
She took both letters and gave them to the messenger with a small pouch of gold, and gave the messenger instructions to deliver Drayden's letter to his island home. After the messenger had left she decided to make her way into town and see if she could find some more decorations for her home. _________________ Ken: I don't put anything in my mouth I don't intend on swallowing...
