Arakad rested wearily upon the crystal throne as he recollected the events he held before him. The journey to sacrifice was beneficial in gaining knowledge from his old friend, Brianha. Even learning a minor step of her fall from grace. ~The step to her rejuvination would be shortly at hand,~ he thought...it was a pitty the quest was cut short its length, leaving a note upon the table explaining why he had to leave Brianha to return to sanctus.
... Word reached Arakad of problems persisting before Hanse, as he retrived the runebook for the city from his pack, his leather gloves flipping the pages to the hostel as he journey'd the airs from Minoc across the spanse of the realms to Malas appearing before Blackguard Gate. Where standing before him he came to notice a man badgering a young lass for money. The dark paladin eased forward, dressed rather plainly in his robes and kasa he leaned against the mystical staff listening in on the conversation.
Much of the talk was rather meaningless, the man hap-hazardly trying to weasl gold from the woman, it wasn't until he over heard the man mention rather rougly "If`n ye pay m`well ah c`n getcha across de boarders o`Umbra to get ye what ye need.
Stepping forward, Arakad tiped the dark kasa up from his masked face, tiredly...lack of sleep...he leaned against the black staff speaking through rough yet understandable tones "Sir, I'm afraid I'm going to have to stop the conversation here, there will be no crossing boarders illegally now."
A royal knight, half drunk, ran forward hearing the arguing between the sheriff and the merchant, out of either mis-understanding or perhaps a mis-calculation the drow looking figure tiped its glasses upon its nose and let forth a wave of wildfire across the land between the two. This only brought the man to more anger and agitated the tired sheriff even more so.
Arakad, now angered, gave a order stareing the drunkard down as the dark eyes gave a soft blue hue to the dark gray pupils, a fair warning, as the drow steped back behind the signpost of the inn. Once again diverting his attention to the baggering merchant. Giving a low nod to the Capitan of the Arcane, Aerie, she opened a gate. With a forceful grip upon the merchants arm Arakad turned the man into the portal and made their way to the jail...This was only the begining...
Tossing the man into the cell, he gave a few sly remarks "You want to bagger us more, sir, I could always fetch your drow friend to keep you company in the cell beside you." startling the merchant, he became even more annoying to the sheriff, giving demands and threats...no promises of mercenaries from Vesper to his aid. Then Aerie once again came forward, speaking softly into the ear of the sheriff as he sat upon the desk writing up the Prisoners log "Sherrif, your love is wounded and in the barracks. Faith has attacked her.
The dark paladin gave a low bow of his head, kicking off from the seat the royal leggings scuffing deeply into the hard stone, the prisoner giving more complaints and growing threats, upon Arakads passing he quickly griped the axe handle upon his back sending the blade quickly against the bars but stoping suddenly to give them but a light tap just loud enough to get the man's attention, the merchants quiet showed his brief yet miniscal understanding of the sheriff's serious attitude as the dark paladin turned and barged out of the prison and headed to the barracks where his lady love lay wounded.
Running up the stairs, he leaped furniture and came to the teleporters making his way to the rest quarters, upon his arrival Tatiana immediatly wraped her arms around him and couldn't help but sob.
Tatiana told Arakad of the beatings she took, the torture... the rituals. And the 'thing' that now moved beneath her scared stomach, the spider that made its home within the womb. A growing anger rose within the man as he gave promises of her recovery, his very presence seeming to calm her pain.
Now his love lay resting upon his bed at the manor. Her furrowed brow showing her inner pain but her ease of sleep as she lay there giving a calmness that she may well recover from this.
"The drow wench will pay for this; I promise you my love... she will pay... Hell hath no means to the pains I will give her." his half glowing, ungloved hands brushing delicate hairs fallen across her gentle yet pain striken face, his own eyes glareing briefly behind their concern.
The dark paladin rose from his place by his love's side and made his way to where he now sits.. the crystal throne room, hand upon his chin with blackened fingertips unconciously tracing the glowing glyphs beneath his cheeks, dark eyes glareing into the distance. The plots of allies to call upon, and tortures to place now crossing through the darkened mind of the man whose warrior spirit is now being rekindled. |

Tatiana could feel it eating at her. She didn't understand how but she could feel herself becoming lesser as each day passed. Arakad was hunting answers, she just feared they would be late in coming. And, that awful Miss Faith was still on the prowl. Tatiana shuddered slightly at the thought. She had not gone anywhere alone. Mr. Hugh was letting her stay at the Garden while Arakad was not about. She felt better for there being others around. Tatiana smiled softly to herself, and she saw more of her son. Thoughts of her son drove the languishing lethargy from her spirit. And, bless his soul, Mr. Galathan did visit yesterday and lifted her spirits almost to normal. She even felt the gnawing go away. Arakad did make her feel the best. His presence gave her strength, his light touch on her cheek balm for her aching soul, for she feared that is what Miss Faith had done, let this Lolth goddess access to her soul and she was gnawing at it daily.
Shaking her head, Tatiana would not allow ill things to consume her thoughts. She felt it only aided the goddess. She shifted her thoughts to her son, and Miss Rryn's tales of him teaching Mr. Tai and their son the proper technique for using the privy. Her eyes danced with merriment as she pictured this in her minds eye; and the gnawing lessened. She would beat this, for she had determination, and best of all, family and freinds who cared. _________________ aka: Tatiana Thorn nee Alexi; Summer Kane; Ivory Skyfire; and others |
