Walking through the woods Bri contemplated many things. She wondered what had become of Vaen as she had not heard back from him. Deciding he must be too far gone to the dark side to give her a second thought anymore, she sighed and clenched her jaw together. “I will move on. I must move on” Now was a good time to burn some frustration and so she hiked up her skirt and began to run as fast as she could not noticing the glances from the animals as she passed them.

Eventually she found herself in front of a very small pond and knelt down to water her face. As she peered into her reflection she could see a woman haunted by many things staring back at her. Her face had become thinner and pale. Aye her whole being had changed. She felt not like the carefree Bri she used to. It was a constant struggle to keep the war in her head and body at bay. One moment she wanted nothing more than to serve Oblivion and then the next she would hide in a corner of her soul trying to grasp hold of what is true and good.

Thinking of those who offered her a temporary haven from her suffering she smiled softly. Her cousin left with her a book in which to read should she feel alone and pulled away. It had helped her on several occasions to glance at the beautiful script of her cousin and picture her laughing… it kept the monsters at bay for that moment. Then there was Kay… Bri looked down at her finger and turned her hand slightly back and forth to watch the gems sparkle. She smiled softly thinking of him. He was a good man to her. Always there for her when she needed comfort, but he never pushed her… he always understood. Maybe in his guidance she would find peace.

For now though it was time to face some demons. She could not hide for her whole life.. there must be a way and she would not let the burden fall on any shoulders but her own. Nodding to herself she stood tall and put her shoulders back letting her feet take her to the one place she wished to be free of.
