It had been quite some time since Claudette had gone over to her future home, the one Melior had worked so hard to setup for them. As she entered, Tara greeted her warmly. “Hello Lady Claudette, would you like me to prepare something special for you?” “Oh, no thank you Tara, just a cup of tea will do, I won’t be staying long.” Claudette then left Tara in the kitchen and went for a walk around the house. As she got upstairs and looked at the fish tank she was alarmed to see that many of them were dead. She wondered how long it had been since Melior had been home. As she waited for Tara to finish her tea she sat down to write Melior a quick letter.
My Dearest Aratoamin,
I cannot tell you how happy I am every time I look down at my hand and see the beautiful engagement ring you gave me. When I look at it I think about our future and the beautiful life we will make together. I have a lot of work ahead of me in planning the wedding and was hoping that soon you would be able to show me the other chapels you told me about. I have already talked to Brianha about helping me plan the wedding. She is still very preoccupied with trying to help Vaen and I don’t really understand why she bothers after what he did to her. I hope that her involvement with helping me plan our wedding will be a good distraction.
Well my love, I hope to hear from you soon and that we will once again get to spend some time together. I miss you and my heart aches to feel you close once more.
With all my love,
Your Arwenamin
P.S. I don’t know what has become of the fish tank. It seems all the fish in it have died.
Claudette sealed the letter and stuck it in one of her pockets. When she got back home she would send a messenger to find Melior at the guard barracks. As she descended the stairs, Tara pointed to a cup of hot tea waiting on the dining room table. She took it outside to the porch and sat there a few minutes listening to the animals in the woods. Breathing in the crisp air, she closed her eyes and smiled. _________________
