|
After losing her life on that dark night Bri was given the option to join the Order or to forever roam the lands in the state in which she was in. There really was no choice.. she knew she had to stay close to Vaen to help him and she could only hope that she would be able to manage the darkness that would begin to creep into her soul long enough to free them both.
Her first night as a slave to the Order she was ordered to perform a task that would put her on the road to serving Oblivion. She did as she was told… or at least that is what they thought. Vaen displayed moments of weakness around her which gave her hope that indeed this task before her was not impossible. She was not too late, they would both be saved.
Allowed to return home she immediately drew a bath and discarded her robe of slavery. Feeling the darkness on her skin she scrubbed as hard as she could to cleanse herself. Not caring of the pain she was causing tears streamed down her cheeks as she continued. Finally realizing that this would not help she ceased and sat there with her face in her hands allowing her pain to flow freely… she must be strong and this was her moment of weakness.. this would be the only moment she would allow herself in the times to come.. she could not give in again. With that thought she brushed away her tears and stepped out of her bath, water cascading down her bare flesh. This time she donned her own clothes and reveled in the feel of normalcy it temporarily gave her. It was time to formulate her plan and so she went down to sit in the lounge.
Thoughts raced through her head… and in there she could still feel darkness whisper to her. She must first learn to manipulate and control her mind. Nodding to herself she knew she would seek out Tai to point her in the direction of one who could help her. That aside she thought of what to do around the others… her cousin.. her guild.. those she cared about. In public she would have to cover herself if the Order were about lest they give her away to her friends of what she belonged to now. She hoped her cousin and guildmates would just accept that she could not tell them things.. that they would just have to trust her for now…
It was a start at least.. she would remain close to Vaen.. she would serve Oblivion as minimally as she could… she would learn to control her mind and in doing this hope to teach Vaen how to do the same.. and then they could find a cure for him.. he must regain some of his own sanity before that could happen though.. This could take some time she thought to herself with a sigh.
Standing up she straightened her shoulders and held her head high. She could do this. She was strong.. she was stubborn.. she will not lose. She walked up to her room with confidence and began to pack the necessities into her pack… a hooded robe.. her slaves robe.. and the other things she always took with her.. “Off to Tai then.” |
