Silently the dark paladin leaned into the elven crafted chair, the glyphs upon his ungloved hand almost glowing as it rubed the black mask that covered his face. The flames of the hearth fire flickering living shadows across the dimly lit, windowless room. Upon his robed lap rested a thinkly bound manuscript of Sanctus Law, dark cloth book marks of various colors scattered sticking out of the pages in a morbid rainbow pattern.

The liquid gray eyes of the man shifted to the slowly opening door of the make-shift library adjent to him, the ruffled servant slowly stepped into the room, candle in hand, the pale blue eyes taking notice of his master by the fireplace. "Sir, the hour is late. Do you wish to sleep this evening or once again will you fall out in your reading chair?"

"I'll wait up for the woman and the child, Rafferty, get some rest. Come dawn I need you to send a message to the council of judges. " fingers fliping the pages up causing the parchment to emit the sound of ruffling feathers "Send word to Lord Isk, I must refrain from my duties as Judge and Council until further notice."

Giving a slight nod, the servant turned making its way towards the teleporter, and within moments vanishing into the room above. Once again leaving his palid young master alone within the manor library. "First judge now sheriff of a city... people hold far to much faith in my talents..." the rough voice sounding hollow... unnatural to come from such a man as he once again opened the bound book flipping it to one of the marked pages near the center and continuing his study.
