After delivering her letter to Drayden, Claudette returned home and once again sat down at her writing desk. She needed to do this in order to start healing. She had always been an honest, caring person and revenge or anger were just not a part of her. She told herself that with time her wounds would heal and with her family and friends by her side, she would be fine. She did not know if she believed it, for many of her old wounds still weighed heavy on her heart. On the brief instances that she allowed herself to think about Aldwin, she seemed to always have to control her thoughts for there were some that she did not dare touch yet.

As she looked down at the fresh piece of parchment, she thought for a moment and began writing.

Dear Lady Alessandra,

I feel that it is necessary for me to write you at this time so that we may both be able to move on with our lives. First let me begin by saying that it is of the utmost importance to me that you know and understand that had I known about the love you and Drayden share, I would never have attempted to pursue a relationship with him. It is obvious to me now that you hold his heart. I will not lie; this has caused me great pain and heartache for I thought he truly cared for me. I know this to be different now but I do not hold any ill feelings towards you. You seemed as confused and hurt as I did that night.

Drayden and I shared what I thought to be something special. He opened my heart anew and allowed me to feel again. For this I will never forget him. You mentioned that you feel as if you will always share him with me and I suppose in a way you will. In my heart, both of us share space but I know in his heart there is only space for you.

I have always wanted him to be happy. I thought he could be with me but now I know it is you he seeks. May your heart find happiness with his.

Sincerely,

Claudette

After re-reading the letter, Claudette took out another piece of parchment and wrote a letter to Vaen.

Dearest Vaen,

I am sorry about my actions the other night at your new house. I never meant to put you in the middle of my problems with Drayden. I was hurt and angry and I hope you can understand that. Although I am still hurting and will for some time, I have had time to think and calm myself and now I am doing what I feel I must do in order to move on. Could you see to it that Lady Alessandra gets this letter? Thank you again and I hope to see you around soon.

Your Friend,

Claudette

After sealing and addressing both of the letters, she placed them both in an envelope and wrote Vaen Swiftar on the front. Claudette then went into town to hire a messenger and do some shopping. She felt that a bit of walking around the shops in Vesper would take her mind off of her aching heart.

Vaen read over the letter wrote to him with a slight grin. He had honestly not thought about the incident again. He would tell Claudette that everything was ok in person, rather than respond in a letter. For he saw her quite often.

He then took the letter addressed to Alessandra and put it in a new envelope, since the one it was already in had been ripped open. He wrote.. "To Alessandra, from Claudette," on the front. Sealing it, he left it for the Legion messenger to deliver to Alessandra.
