He must have re-read the message over and over fifty times. He wondered who the author was, and how they knew of him. For so long now, he had tried to avoid anything drow.
Keenly, his memories of Ama'il Alean'tylar haunted him. She had chided him nightly for 200 years for his failure to move on and let her go. Her spirit still visited him on special days each year.
Kay realized he had cried far too much for those things which he could not change. The ways of his people. The loss of his first love. The disappearance of his second love. The predicament he now faced with Telia.
I have been running for so long from my past. It is time I stood and faced it.
As he packed his bags, again, he thought over the note.
I must find this author. I must end this running.
Thusly prepared, he exited through the door of Telia's home. He was headed back to Wind to find the drow who authored the message. This could very well be the last battle he ever fought, though he was no seasoned veteran. If this drow wished him dead, he was prepared to not make it so easy.
