A day had passed since Isk sent out the note Molly’s daughter was made to write. It stated that she had been taken against her will. An abduction, a cliche, an act that happened all the time somewhere in the realm. Isk did not care at the lack of ingenuity, the child was a target of opportunity, one that Isk could not resist. Every part of him knew that this might be his last chance to take into his possession Molly’s parts of the Hand of Evil.

The child was in a dire situation and in the back of Isk’s mind he knew that Malta could end up dead if the Magnate did not get his way. He told the child that it was Molly that made him hit her, it was Molly that was the cause of her misery. It was because Molly did not hand the items over that Malta was beaten over the head with the Helm of Evil. She cried and she will not enjoy tomorrow.

“Perhaps now Molly will give me the Hand of Evil artifacts she holds.” Isk spoke to himself as he rode towards the Hunter’s Lodge, the beating of the child still on his mind. He knew that there was no danger to him at this late hour but was surprised that there was a struggle happening within the tavern. To the sound of violence, as flames danced protectively around one of the combatants Isk set down a bloody floppy hat marked by the tailor Katrina Swansong. A simple threat was written with it.

She was doing some late night shopping from the vendors in Luna. It was far too crouded in the day to find anything she was looking for, when Maggy, from Hunter's Lodge came running up to her. She said there was a note left there for her by a masked man. She feared the worse because he had spoken of her daughter. She wasted no time in mumbling words that took her to the lodge leaving Maggy standing there to find her own way back.

When she arrived there were several members she recognized from seeing them at the practices in Jhelom with the Legion and others of the alliance but did not remember their names. They handed her the letter that was given them. She knew of the reputation of Nicodemus and knew him to be honest. He handed her the letter that the man in the mask had given him to give to her. She questioned them of the person that left the letter. They told her it was a man in a mask and she nodded..Isk.

She broke the seal and opened it. She began to read. Tears sprang forth as she read and she gripped the chair next to her for balance dropping the book to the floor. They made her sit down for if she hadn't she would have fainted dead away on the floor. Speaking in a low but strained tone she said. He has my daughter, Malta'Vesta. I have something he wants and he wants to exchange her for the item.

They asked what item could be worth a human life and she said she could not explain there and would the accompany her to her home where she could show them what Isk wanted. They agreed and went to her home.

She ushered them in and to the guild hall on the second floor and walked to the displayed leggings. She pointed out the makers mark. "The hand of Evil" began to tell them what they were and the great danger that they held for the world should they along with the other pieces fall into the wrong hands.

She told them where the other pieces had resided and that Isk had threatened her. She told them that Isk had told her that she WOULD give him the leggings and to cooperate or suffer the conciquences.

Now she faced those conciquences...but it was not her that was suffering it was her daughter...he had children how could he do such a horendous thing to another parent she could not fathom. She asked them if they could keep a secret and the nodded. They spoke in hushed tones and she gave them a package to keep for her. She said, If anything happens to me at least this will be safe with you. The both of them were most concerned and vowed to help as best they could and she nodded thanks to them both. She said she would contact others that might be able to help and saw them to the door.

They returned to the Lodge and she stood staring at the leggings.

Evil...I was told they would bring evil to my home...I had no idea... *tears rolled down her cheeks* Malta...I will give him what he desires he best not harm you or he will pay for his evils as well.

The hour was late but the need was urgent. She went to her writing desk and began to write letters. The first was to Martin, then one to Vaen, one to Tai Kwan Leep, one to Mia Stormcrow and one to Isk himself.
